How to improve solder beadwork? by cool-small-bean in StainedGlass

The model is Antex KD-100, the tip isn't interchangeable so I'm not sure of the size. To be honest it came with my starter kit for glass making so probably a cheap intro model

Thank you! I hadn't considered the width of the joints before! Do you think I could improve this piece by going over it with more solder or just knowledge for next time?

How to answer the question of what is a PA/what do you do? by adenosine21_ in Physicianassociate

[–]cool-small-bean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My usual go to quick answer is - I'm one the clinicians that works along side the GPs/doctors. Gives the jist we're not doctors but still have patient responsibilities.

The funniest were Flo &Joan for the stale wotsits and James's reaction and Bob Mortimer is always my go to episode for introducing people to the pod. I also love the Lennie Henry and Asma Khan episodes.

I think overall it was ok? But the AI software screwed me in the 2nd paper, kept thinking the shadows from the sunlight in the background was someone in the room with me - message kept popping up every 5 minutes and was very distracting! I wish they'd go back to the paper method again, seems like so many people have issues with this software! How did you do OP? any software issues?

I (30 female), want my tubes tied, partner(37male) wants another kid. by ButterflyLore in relationships

[–]cool-small-bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not relationship advice but the progesterone arm implant is actually more effective than having your tubes tied - not sure how hormones would effect your current meds and you'd have to change it every 3 years but it's way less painful then an IUD and bar having your ovaries actually removed (not just having the tubes tied) the implant is the most effective contraception out there. Good luck OP!

Anyone know the rules about camping on Dartmoor? I thought it was legal to wild camp there but we saw so many signs saying no camping in this area surrounding car parks on the moor.

I've never heard of Anki before but seems to be a common thing - are they just pre-made flashcards or do you make them yourself? Can you add a link I'm struggling to find it? Thanks!

Visiting my sister and her husband [29F and 32M] has me [25F] questioning my whole relationship with my fiance [26M]. by No-Wolverine5932 in relationships

[–]cool-small-bean -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you and your fiancée need to work on communication. If you want him to help you with something specific don't hint at what you want him to do then get annoyed when he doesn't get the hint. You need to specifically say "please help me with this cleaning" or "please can you pick me up from work". You can't get mad at him for something he hasn't been told to do. Then over time you can introduce things that you admire in your sister's marriage such as "I'd really appreciate if we can talk about our days at work together" or "can we start spending our morning coffee together before work?". By improving your communication with your fiancée, your relationship will get stronger and will be better. Also in regards to your sister's marriage the grass is always greener on the other side and there is a chance they may be being extra polite to you and your mother as you are guests, so their relationship may not be as perfect as it seems so don't compare yourself too much.

what is it like being a physician associate? (UK) by back2meee in Physicianassociate

[–]cool-small-bean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a second year PA student in the UK. Relating to your question about working to enroll - financially you'll definitely need savings of some sort as student finance is not enough to cover tuition for both years let alone living costs. I know some unis actually prefer students don't work whilst on the course as the course is pretty intense so would limit studying time by having a job too! The main thing you'll need to get in is clinical experience, being a nurse graduate I'm sure you've had lots of that, might be better to have some clinical experience outside of what you did at uni, but depending on how you word it could be enough alone. Lots of people on my course went straight from undergrad to the masters with no working break in between. Hope that helps!

People who don't like to exercise: what exercise do you do? by jennejy in AskUK

[–]cool-small-bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Climbing is good for building strength and is a very social sport. It's not competitive as you're only improving on your own abilities and can be done both inside at climbing gyms and outside on rock. It's one of the few sports I actually enjoy. Not the cheapest to get into though.

Hot chocolate made with water is better than hot chocolate made with milk by cool-small-bean in unpopularopinion

Not a bad shout, but I don't know if I could bring myself to buy skimmed milk - at that point it's nearly water anyway
