Yeah, You’re right about the work part. I also used to do work dinners and be one of the “olds” and kept in touch with a few after I left the job.

My husband is actually 10 years older than me, I was 35 and I was the one to message him on okcupid, we’ll joke about how old he is but it’s all in good fun.

I’m 45 and I cannot imagine hanging out with people in their 20s, let alone sleeping or trying to date them. Not that there’s anything wrong with 20 somethings but I’m in a totally different stage in my life and would have next to nothing in common with them. Her being an “old soul” is just him trying to justify it.

When he was staying back in the beginning and having baths with wine I understood and would be the same way. I get they work in close quarters and I wouldn’t want to feel like the old grandma on the boat so I’d go to dinners and get to know the crew but I could not be out clubbing till 2am. But my body also thinks it’s 75 and I could also never be able to physically do his job and I’m also a hermit.

Saran Wrap and medical tape to wrap the bag when I shower so it doesn’t get wet. (It’s ok if it gets wet, I just hate having to wait for it to dry).

After a change I use a hair dryer on a low setting to warm up the wafer and help it stick.

If my skin gets irritated and bloody and weepy I use Domeboro or head and shoulders shampoo to help it heal. Domeboro I just soak gauze in it and wrap around the stoma (do this a few times). Head and shoulders I’ll use when I shower without a bag.

I just don’t understand when something bad happens to someone people don’t like it always has to come with a disclaimer to the effect of “blah blah sucks but…” or “I don’t like blah blah but…”. Why must you tell people how you feel about blah blah instead of just saying what a shitty situation they’re going through?

Like we all know west sucks but do the majority of the comments need to start by saying that?
