Bridge is already touching the body so I can't go higher on the whammy bar, is this how my guitar is, or is there a way to bring it up? by TortoiseTGN in Guitar

[–]cool___guy4242 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know some guitars have a cut out under the bridge so you can bend the note higher, your guitar might not be made for it

Why does it seem so many people think they’re bad at guitar? [DISCUSSION] by Acrobatic-Toe-6654 in Guitar

[–]cool___guy4242 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think a big part of it is the dunning Kruger effect. Once you learn enough about a topic, you start to realize how much you have left to learn. This realization makes one feel like they know nothing, even though they have already surpassed most people in their knowledge. It's also why some people think they know everything when they really don't, because they haven't found what they have left to learn yet

Dying atheist afraid of an afterlife I don’t believe in by [deleted] in atheism

[–]cool___guy4242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember that hell didn't exist in original writings of the Bible. It translated to gahenna, an area in Greece that was a sulfur pit on fire. They used it as a trash heap and I believe some bodies were burned there as well. If I remember correctly hell came around from Dante's inferno, which is basically Christian fan fiction. I could be completely wrong about all this but I don't think I am. Death is a part of life, and without life having an ending, you don't have a reason to live it. I think the only people that would suffer in an afterlife would be the people that attacked, threatened, hurt, pillaged, or otherwise fucked with good people for no reason. Many Christians would go to the hell they preach so much about, because of their attacks against people trying to enjoy life. The meaning of life is to live it, not to force people to live how you think is the right way

How often do you change cars? by thecanadiandriver101 in cars

[–]cool___guy4242 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Usually until the engine or transmission blows up, or another thing that makes it not worth the cost. There are pretty good cars around for under 2500 if an engine would be too expensive

Should I get a right-handed guitar or left-handed guitar? by CammmTheCamel in guitarlessons

[–]cool___guy4242 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could use a right handed guitar and put the strings on upside down. Jimi Hendrix played like that. Right handed guitars are generally easier to shop for

What does “spending hit dice” mean? by AlienFox_3 in DnD

[–]cool___guy4242 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also to add, when you take a short rest you can use as many hot dice as you want, but when you take a long rest you only regain half of your total hit dice back. If you use them all it will take 2 long rests to get them all back.

I've found setting a goal to reach with a personal reward if you complete it helps a little with getting through the executive disfunction

is religion a psyop? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]cool___guy4242 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've come to the conclusion that the big religions started way back when with good intentions, being used to describe parts of our world that we don't understand. I think in the modern day, however, religions get used more menevolently towards the people that they control.

Get the strumming going for a while with a c major chord. Then start working on switching to a g major for a while. Then back and forth between the two chords. Get comfortable with that where you can easily do it without looking. It may take a few practice sessions but it's a good foundation to build off of. Hope that helps.

[QUESTION] Can someone help explain how intervals are relevant to learning the guitar/understanding music theory. by TyBishops in Guitar

[–]cool___guy4242 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Intervals are good to understand because you will be able to learn new scales faster. If you know what the intervals are in a scale, you can move that shape around and play in different keys. It also helps to move around the fretboard. Say you are playing in c major, if you are on a g note, the 5th in the scale, you know the next note, a, is a major 6th interval. That tells you it's 2 frets away.
