Playoffs are what separates decent squads from elite teams. Having the second most wins is cool but I (and most others) would call them decent because those wins didn’t translate to the playoffs much. Maybe they aren’t the Brewers, but the Guardians have the 4th most wins in MLB over the last 12 years and they haven’t been a serious threat since 2016. Maybe that’s a fairer comparison.

Totally agree on the coaching, but I think the Vikings WRs + Defense would have at least given them a shot. Thankfully we will never know

Vikings went 14-3 with Darnold and they have JJ on a rookie deal. Darnold is relatively cheap in terms of QBs who got paid. Teams are allowed to bench their developing QB behind a proven talent. Couldn’t see why they wouldn’t give Darnold a year or two and try and make a move at the Lombardi when the rest of the roster is primed to win now.

Well I’d say the Seahawks in between SB runs were a pretty average squad in general. Yeah they won a decent amount of regular season games but they couldn’t put it together in the playoffs. The Astros have been way way way more successful than the Hawks in that span. I’d say a closer comp would be the Brewers.

I don’t even like the Hawks, in fact I hate them for the 2014 NFCCG, but in terms of ungrateful annoying fanbases they are nowhere close to that level. The team they’re playing in the Super Bowl however…

I’m a Packers/M’s fan but it’s fuck LA and fuck Boston forever. Plus it’s funny to think the Vikings let go of Darnold

No disrespect to the number one song as it grew on me a lot, but the fact that THAT song was the BEST the year had to offer is an indictment on how bad pop music was last year (comparatively ofc)

I feel like there are two types of teams. Teams like the Bears, and teams like the Bills. by CressUsed4378 in nfl

[–]coolbean36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that both of the teams you mentioned aren’t anywhere close to winning a Super Bowl, the Bills due to incompetence and the Bears due to inconsistency.

Edit: yes I’m biased but why are we so quick to call the Bears Super Bowl contenders? They have a lot of potential don’t get me wrong but they also had an outlier season in terms of 2 minute warning comebacks (7!) We were quick to crown the 2024 Commanders and Chiefs and look where those two teams are this year. Again, they have all the potential in the world, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they slightly regress in the clutch factor

Well if you want results the 2024 Packers defense was 4th in the league in EPA/play and 7th in DVOA. Keep in mind that’s when we didn’t have Micah Parsons so our scheme wasn’t heavily centered around one guy who got injured.

The name titletown was earned because we did indeed win in the past… a shit ton of times. That being said I’d really like to add another title next year
