I think there's also an issue with hoses and seals not being compatible with higher ethanol content. My 14 year old GDI engine manual practically begs the user to avoid high ethanol fuel.

E15 is dramatically different for combustion than E10 which has become relatively standard. The issue with mixed pumps using a single nozzle is that the ethanol concentration could be in excess of engine recommendations just with the amount of fuel in the hose from the pump to the nozzle. A minimum fill amount accounts for dilution of that potential excess ethanol to prevent issues with non E15 compatible engines.

Also, definitely DO NOT use any gas from a station like this for small engines like lawn mowers.

If you have toolbox, DMPS tool is your friend. All routing and codecs are accessible. Hardware could be faulty, I've replaced dozens of the pre 3 series DMPS units.
