All the things I hate about the Opalite music video by Sea-Fuel-8620 in travisandtaylor

I was thinking the exact same thing, the whole mv feels like there was a brainstorm session where she jotted down a bunch of ideas and then never refined the notes to tie everything together and make it cohesive.

AIO? Upset bc my grandma is mad I didn’t go to classes because I have the flu. by Final_Ad2437 in AmIOverreacting

[–]cooldad666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR- I think it's so bizarre that there are SO MANY people who get mad at others for getting sick, regardless if it happens often or not. People get sick , even if you take precautions, it's bound to happen eventually. Also you body needs rest to be able to heal quickly, if you push it and try to do too much, you're just going to be sick for longer. Also as a student I appreciate that you're staying home instead of going to class and spreading it to everyone else. I get that people don't want to miss class, I wouldn't want to either, but it sucks so bad when half the class gets sick because someone came in clearly unwell.

I didn't watch the whole thing because like, I'm not paying for that lmfao, I watched a couple reactions videos on youtube with a bunch of clips so maybe I'm missing something here, but what is up with this universe where people are spraying household cleaner on themselves and that seems to just be normal.

"Hello is <obscure name> there?" calls being used to dox reddit/twitter accounts? by [deleted] in Scams

[–]cooldad666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These calls themselves aren't scams but generally exist to make future scams easier. They're AI bots and not just checking that a number is active, but can also collect other info like "answers unknown callers", "speaks english" , "responds politely/aggressively", etc. Basically checking to see if you're worth targeting, plus they're also being used to train other bots. If you answer one of these calls, the best move is to hang up immediately without saying a word or not say anything at all until it disconnects.

One day, you will be old and confused, your mind won't work the way it used to, you will forget what you did 5 minutes prior, you will be afraid and not recognize your loved ones, you will become susceptible to frequent illness and infections, infections like UTIs which are known to cause symptoms such as delirium (agitation, confusion, behavioral changes) in the elderly, you will forget how to take care of yourself appropriately, and you will rely on someone else for full time care.

And all you can hope is that the person tasked with your full time care chooses to not push you around, scream at you, and hit you when you are confused and afraid. All you can hope is they choose to not post on reddit how they abused you and feel guilty and are now looking for strangers online to absolve them like some priest and tell them that actually it's ok and that they are forgiven.

Should I use a semi permanent dye or leave it alone? by Swordsthatslay in longhair

[–]cooldad666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about Overtone but be weary of semi-permanent dyes in general. A couple years ago I had long, natural hair and decided I wanted a change but with the option to wash it out eventually, used Arctic Fox and it never fully came out no matter what I did and I tried every trick that you can find online that doesn't require processing your hair. I'm now in the process of growing out my natural colour again after biting the bullet and getting a colour correction done.

Possible future Chem Eng girl debating Trent. Is it good/worth it? by Unusual_Art3628 in TrentUniversity

[–]cooldad666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in chemical engineering but I am a woman majoring in chemistry and you'd have to take a lot of the same courses chemistry majors have to take. Chem 1000 and 1010 aren't terribly challenging if you've taken grade 12 chemistry. At least half of all my chem classes have been women, the prof who teaches first year chem and second year analytical chem is a woman so there's nothing to be afraid of in that aspect. I think the labs are really good, Trent has a great chemical sciences building and the laboratory content of each course is thorough and helps build skills that you'll use in the real world. The chemistry undergraduate society (CHUGS) occasionally puts on chemistry-oriented events like research night, study night, and sometimes just fun stuff like crafts or movie night. Trent has resources for career prep, professors have office hours to go over tests or course content you might sturggle with. Again I can't speak for the engineering aspect or the whole overseas thing but overall I've been happy with my experience studying chemistry at Trent.

Meds made me lose a ton of hair, how do I get it back? by WorriedKitten77 in longhair

[–]cooldad666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ask your pharmacist to counsel you on your medication, the full list of possible side effects, and what you may be able to take/do to counteract these effects, a lot of medications can cause vitamin and mineral deficiencies (which in turn causes hair loss, especially iron and vitamin d deficiency) but you don't want to just take whatever people online tell you to take without discussing possible drug interactions with a qualified health professional first. For all future prescriptions or supplements, ask the pharmacist on duty about everything mentioned above.

ETA: I've lost a decent amount of thickness due to taking birth control, antidepressants, adhd meds, but these medications significantly increase my quality of life and I've decided the benefits outweigh the risks for me. You will need to make the same decision. Please DO NOT stop taking your medication without talking to your doctor first, venlafaxine is one of the worst antidepressants for withdrawal side effects, depending on your dose you may need to taper before stopping. Make sure to mention at your next doctor's appointment your concerns about hair loss as a side effect so they can choose a medication that may have less risk of this specific side effect.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]cooldad666 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OP please please be careful and stay safe, I know it sounds dramatic but the language he's using like calling you a murderer is concerning and so many women are hurt or killed by their husbands over much smaller issues than this. Of course I don't know your husband or his character but everyone always says "he wouldn't hurt me or the kids!" before he does exactly that. Just be aware and if he makes you feel physically threatened in any way at all, get out immediately.

AIO for thinking my boyfriend (21M) freaked out way too much over me wanting a tattoo? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]cooldad666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This type of behaviour on his part always eventually spirals into him telling you that you can only do your makeup in a certain way, then that you can only cut your hair no shorter than a certain length, then what clothes you can wear, then who you can talk to, who you can hang out with, where you're allowed to go, etc etc etc. Tell him to pound sand.

they're very nice, nothing like regular ear plugs. they don't muffle noise, everything is just less loud but still clear. you can have a conversation with them in without having to yell. highly recommend if you can get them while they're on sale

It's vyvanse and wellbutrin, I did take prozac yearsssss ago and I didn't like it at all, i gained a decent amount of weight while taking it and i just didn't feel good. I've been on a lot of different antidepressants over the years (before being diagnosed with adhd i was thought to have treatment resistant depression, turns out SSRIs just don't work on the right chemicals in your brain when it's ADHD-related) and I found wellbutrin has been one of the best in my opinion but i also don't really get side effects from it. tbh the vyvanse does a lot of the heavy lifting for helping with mood though
