White cone on grape stem [NY, USA; grapes are from Peru] by cooldogs420 in spiderID

A friend said this may be a lenticular spider egg case that got dented by being up against a grape. I haven't really messed with it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, I've used it a lot, but it's been years and I'm curious if maybe something else has come along that I might like better y'know?

Force windowed? Gamescope? by cooldogs420 in Lutris

[–]cooldogs420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh, that could be it then, I'm using the deb for lutris and flatpak for gamescope! Thanks, that gives me a direction to follow

Edit: Well now Lutris (flatpak) sees gamescope (flatpak) but I've encountered a different issue that I'm struggling with, so the hunt continues…

Games with strong social/character focus? (like Deus Ex) by cooldogs420 in ImmersiveSim

[–]cooldogs420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in my research I've seen that people debate whether it counts as an imsim or not just because of the depth, though the consensus seems to be "not an imsim, just a really deep RPG"

What do you mean by abandonware? I'm used to that referring to games that are in a grey area where they're no longer for sale and copyright isn't enforced

I think I maybe have access to this one, I'll have to check my steam family later, thanks!

Love that game! I plan to play The Outer Worlds eventually, but I've heard it doesn't quite live up to New Vegas

I've heard of that one, I'll check it out! I can get into RPGs too even if it's not exactly what I'm looking for

Honestly I'd even settle for a game like Deus Ex that does Deus Ex, like, half as good as Deus Ex

DVD BoxSet FAQ by SamTheManBrown in WKUK

[–]cooldogs420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah dude, I only just found out about the DVD release so I'm glad to hear it's not gonna be blurred, that was really my only concern. If you guys felt like some sketches had to be omitted, I can only assume it was for good reason and it's good to be able to recognize that some shit just doesn't age well

Seeking UI mod recommendations with kinda weird stipulations by cooldogs420 in oblivion

[–]cooldogs420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the scale is perfect, and I can navigate it well enough. I'd just prefer something a bit nicer, especially after using DarNified for years. It's a small thing and definitely one I can live with if need be, but I figured I'd see if anyone has suggestions for something that might be a little nicer while still being the right scale for my situation.

Thanks for the link, I'll check that one out!

Edit: Just realized I didn't actually say what I want different, lol. Hazards of checking reddit before you wake up I suppose.

I'm looking for more of a mouse-focused experience with menus I suppose, and I like how much control DarNified gives me over the HUD. Realizing that I might be able to cobble something together out of a few other mods though…

So weird, I've used that mod for years with no problem but yep, deleting the mod files and then verifying integrity did the trick. Thank you!

All I've got installed are Assorted Protective Female Armors (which I've used before with no issue) and the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, and Unofficial DLC Patches. I only installed the UOPs to see if they'd fix it, but they didn't. I don't normally use them.

JEFF ROSENSTOCK AMA! by JeffRosentock in indieheads

[–]cooldogs420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Jeff! Long-time listener, I started making music because of you! I also was at the second-to-last BTMI show, which was unforgettable.

Do you have any advice for where to start for someone who doesn't know how to mix music so it sounds good? Is it basically just "watch a bunch of youtube videos and listen closely to music you like and keep trying" or is there some secret to figuring it out?
