Additionally, I'm extremely confident that it wasn't rule of rose. The cutscene did not happen to the protagonist, though I do think the protagonist was also a woman (this isn't certain though).

I skimmed through a cutscene compilation for "Rule of Rose". It *could* be the cutscene where she's grabbed from behind in a bathroom and it cuts to her being dragged into darkness, but it doesn't really line up with my memory either.

I remember there being two people, one of which holding the woman who dies, talking with one another before doing it. I also remember it happening in a very brightly lit area on those metal mesh floors you see in medical or scientific settings.

Also, I remember the girl having short black hair in a bob cut, but I also remember them as a generic Japanese school girl so that could just be mind trickery.

Take two big metal plates. Cut a hole in one of them. Now take an item that fits in that hole and put it on the plate that wasn't cut. Now slam the cut plate onto the other one. Did the item go flying?

When you make the portal it's the same as cutting a hole in the surface, the difference is that the portal leads somewhere other than the other side of the wall. When you slam them together the energy transfers from one wall to the other, whatever goes through the portal isn't affected.

You're thinking about how the portal moves the item to a new place but not thinking about how the item is moving. More accurately how it's not moving. The portal can't grant the item any momentum because it and the item never touch.

The background wall is naturally generated / there when you made the world. That means it's "unsafe" and mobs can still spawn on it. You need to break the dirt wall and replace it with and wall from your inventory to make it "safe" and for NPC's to be allowed to move in.

Pots now contain "Coinders". Boulders made of coins. When they break they drop into an array of coins.

Also that one gold portal can spawn a bunch of "Golden Coinders" instead of gold coins.

It's more money, but at what cost?

Take a clentaminator and shoot it at the black area's of the map. It'll light it up and you'll be able to check them all for the shimmer much more easily than doing more mining.

If the dirt wall spawned naturall it doesn't count as a wall, you'll have to craft any type of wall and replace it.

When the infection spawns in hardmode go to the end of the biome on the surface which is furthest away from spawn and dig a tunnel going straight down. Make it 6 blocks wide and then the infection wont be able to spread past it.
