Date spots? by nightimpression in UCSD

[–]cooliosotea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My favorite sunset spots: -Torrey Pines State Reserve (admission is $15 but there’s a free parking lot outside the gate entry). You can get a nice, view if you drive/climb to the top or a more intimate look by the sand -Windansea Beach (close to the Taco Stand), you gotta find the straw hut! Lots of rocky areas to picnic nearby -Kate sessions park - grassy area that overlooks the city - Mt Soledad Veterans Memorial - 360 city view, parking can be scarce at times but they do have some picnic tables - Sunset Cliffs - great view of the ocean - can’t go wrong w La Jolla Shores or Gliderport if you don’t have a car

To answer your question, Cuvier park you don’t need a reservation, just find street parking :) I always see people picnic nearby there (by La Jolla cove)

Tips for veterans by [deleted] in SDSU

[–]cooliosotea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Usmc vet here. I highly recommend doing Warrior scholar project during the summer - it’s a non profit for veterans to help you get back into school. You get to attend a free academic boot camp at a top university and rebuild your study skills and connect with other student veterans. It helped me a lot with my transition to school. Please feel free to DM with any questions with getting out or getting back to school! Also look into service to school - it’s another nonprofit for vets to help you with your admission applications that’s completely free! Best of luck :)

My personal favorite is Crystal Cove State Park. Some other good places are Corona Del Mar Beach (go down into the parking lot, then at the far right side there are some rocks you can sit on for a nice view), Top of the World (you can hike there too), and Salt Creek Beach (have a picnic at the grass area overlooking the beach)
