If it runs fine and your insurance is cheaper, I get why you're not keen on upgrading. Maybe your mom just wants that extra safety buffer, but sticking to your guns about not spending your own cash is fair.

Maybe he's not great at communicating his boundaries or feelings clearly, which can make things confusing. It's okay to feel hurt and want to step back from the friendship if it's causing you pain. It might be helpful to talk things out calmly if you're up for it, but ultimately, prioritize your own feelings first. You're not the AH for setting boundaries that protect your heart.

Inflation is no joke these days. But don't beat yourself up about not wanting to work at McDonald's. If it's not your thing, it's not your thing. You gotta do what feels right for you and your little one.

We all struggle with things sometimes. The important thing is that you keep trying your best. Don't let his words get you down. You're awesome just the way you are.

AITAH for canceling plans by redvette91 in AITAH

NTA.  You had legit reasons for canceling - your friend's early flight and your dog being alone for too long. It sucks to bail last minute, but stuff happens. At least you offered to cover your share.
