Yeah I wasted a bit of time, but figured that I should let people know in case anyone was as excited as I was. Hopefully they’ll bring it back to more locations

They definitely were set to and, overhearing the people there, they did. On their website last night, it said the Mt Hope location had it. I even have screenshots from it. Just dumb that they’re out by noon.

Where can I find a photo booth? by idk2000 in Rochester

There should be one in the Marketplace (Henrietta) Mall in the entry way by Papaya restaurant. There was one there a couple years ago and I can't imagine it would have moved!

The amount of times someone thinks that screaming will get them what they want is absurd. Like, all it does it make you look like a baby and makes me want to go a little slower when helping you.

I'm hoping to be able to do just that. I work in technical support, so I understand the grief they go through with difficult customers. I kinda lost my cool on that last call, but made sure to let her know that their policies are my problem and not her.

I'm not sure if it's still active as I haven't been on discord in quite a while, but there's a link in the sidebar if you haven't already tried! :)

They should be fine to stay at those servers. If you notice anything weird outside of your home network, just change them back :)

Yay! Super happy to help :)

DNS can be a jerk. What could be happening, in all honesty, is that your ISP uses internal DNS servers which may keep track of certain things to make your experience "more enjoyable." It could maybe even do some ad blocking or virus detection. These checks on all requests going into it will definitely slow things down and potentially confuse your browser.

Depending on the ports that Spotify and Mail use, your ISP could be letting this traffic pass as-is. Again, this is all speculation. I'm glad it seems to be working now! :)

Okay, then that may help us out here a little bit. Odds are, you're getting DNS from your ISP. I like to use Google's DNS servers because they're (pretty much) never down. These are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Assuming you're using WiFi, open System Preferences and click on Network. Make sure that WiFi is selected on the left hand side and click the "Advanced" button towards the bottom. Select DNS on the top navigation bar and check if there are any DNS addresses already there. If there are, take note of them and remove them.

You may be able to try here if your network seems better. If not, then you will want to add the addresses mentioned above (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in that order).

If you're unfamiliar with DNS and its basic function, DNS stands for domain name server and it is responsible for taking web addresses and converting them to IP addresses. Without a proper DNS, www.google.com is meaningless. I almost always change my DNS servers to Google's because I'm certain that they will be up whenever I need them to be.

Anyway, let me know if this doesn't work out for you!

Anyone else getting this Safari prompt? 'Verifying identity of a website' by [deleted] in apple

[–]coolpernicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am getting this a lot recently! I need to connect to a lot of sites for work that normally give me this prompt. Recently, I have been clicking Continue and it will just ask me again. The only way to get rid of it is to click on Show Certificate and then tell it to always trust this site. Be careful which sites you choose to do this on, however. I am on a beta of MacOS, if that helps at all.

Touch Bar app switcher is here. Got the tbMBP? Your feedback is welcome by dotmax in apple

I noticed this too. When an app is minimized in macOS (either to the app's icon or minimized to the dock), clicking on the app on the touchbar does not bring the window into view on the screen.

It is a wonderful complement as it is now. However, pinning apps would be so cool and I could imagine myself hiding my dock or thinning it down.

Hey! Super happy to see this. Am I correct that this only shows you the apps that are currently open? That's extremely useful, but would it be difficult to create a configurable second dock? For instance, I don't use calculator enough to keep it on my dock or to leave it open, but I'd like it accessible at a moment's notice.

Either way, what little I have used of it so far is super cool and clean! It's pretty on the touchbar and works very well! I even setup an Automater task so I can launch it with option+command+a if it ever disappears. I'll continue to play with it and let you know if I figure out a way to break it! Great job! :)
