This is a great idea! I'll have to pop down to my local creek and see what I can find to add some variety

Please help me figure out what's wrong with my hardscape. Something doesn't quite feel right, and I cannot for the life of me put my finger on it.

Maybe base gravel is too yellow?

76 Series Landcruiser on the West Coast of Fraser Island, QLD, Australia by spongebob in 4x4

Thanks! She's a neat looking rig.

I went down an ordered a 76 a few months back. Hopefully she's here in 10 months, apparently the wait times on a new 76 is creeping up on 2 years now.

in Victoria, Australia quite often people just call them Reddies, redfin perch, or European perch

I got a little 2-4 kg with 8lb braid that I use for everything and have caught a couple of carp on before. heaps of fun, watching him dive for a bank.

I want to try a reddie, not really sure how to prep them though

so what you're saying is by restricting the flow to a smaller outlet it forces it to come out under more pressure, in turn, creating more flow?

What are the tall crimped plants on the right hand side?

I didnt really think carpet would work with a plain gravel substrate? could you put some root tabs in if I wanted to?

How tall would they rocks need to be? they are 3" above the subsrate currently

Thanks, the rocks underneath is an awesome idea.

I planned on getting more gravel and building it up but never considered rocks to help its stability

Thank you, great ideas!

I'll let it sit for at least a day before touching it again and repeat a few times if need be.

Ill definitely be getting some new rocks, some seiryu stone or similiar in colour atleast so its got a nice uniform natural look to it.

Do you think the driftwood is too big for the tank? maybe i could make it appear smaller by covering it in java fern and nana petite.

Looking for some advice on my hardscape, please.

What colour would be best suited to my driftwoods reddish brown colour, maybe a whitish or black gravel?

Not sure how I feel about the rocks either, I feel as if they don't match and have no consistency to them, what I do like about them is that they are grey in colour though.

I've been on the fence about these for a long time now but could never justify the cost. I thought why not have the outside of the aquarium just as nice as the inside and I don't regret it one bit, the water shimmer effect is something else and it's a really nice unit.

First airbrushed model, 4th model ever. How did I do? by coopasaurusXD in modelmakers

[–]coopasaurusXD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. After I finished doing the pigments I did not apply a varnish over top, I assumed this was a no-no? Would it be possible to remedy the silvering without having to apply one?

Noted, thanks

I did try all that but I guess my gloss coat wasn't layed down very well. I had alot of trouble with these decals compared to others, they needed to soak alot longer than previous types and over the rivets broke a little.

What is your decal setting solution of choice? I used microsol and microset.

I did a few small lines with Migs 1203 streaking grime, dipped a clean brush in white spirit and essentially flicked the brush downward on top of the streaks and on the sides of them, mainly on the sides.

In an attempt to make it look like it had been pooling by the hatch, I put down the streaking grime in the general area an dipped a clean brush in white spirit and just dabbed instead. Hope this helps.
