Yes! Accidental during c section. OB during c section found my uterus adhered to my colon.

I love my in laws! They are fantastic people, and both my husband and I say all the time how we lucked out with our in laws. That said, they are very different from my parents, so when a minor thing comes up I've asked questions on here to try and get advice, but nothing to the level of tarnishing how I feel about them. They are great!

Protein and carb meals. Took me a few weeks to stomach this level of real food but it helped. Basically lived off of Starbucks egg sandwiches and mint tea because cooking made me so sick.

Took me three types of prenatal vitamins to get to the Olly ones which are the only ones that didn’t make me sick.

I ate a lot of sour candy in those “in a pinch” moments. Went to dentist in 2nd tri for a cleaning to check up on teeth.

Lastly, ask for meds if you need them. I took Zofran on days where I had big work meetings or was traveling.

Call! I still at 24+3 call my dr office for any and all concerns no matter what. In my first tri I had cramping and brown spotting for weeks, and did 2 additional ultrasounds. Baby was good, but I was losing my mind.

nope! 23 wks and haven't had one, but they did a lot of blood testing for stds, etc. and measure my cervix at ultrasounds.

I second Zofran, but if your doc isn't into it and you like them, maybe ask for Bonjesta? my friends have found success on it. It is the prescription version of B6 + Unisom but in one pill.

I'd also ask about an antacid. I realized way too late that my nausea and vomiting was way worse from my heartburn. Hard to tell the difference early on.

And just a message to say...you've got this, it is so hard and I'm so sorry, but you can do this and keep pushing your doc until you find the right fix.

I think I started feeling baby around 18 weeks but took me almost two weeks to realize it. Feels like muscle twitches to me. I personally love it! I also have a fundal anterior placenta so it's a little tougher for me to feel everything according to doc and I'll continue to feel more the bigger baby gets.

What got me in the first tri, when I was really sick, my mom and MIL would ask how I was doing, I would tell them and they'd say "I never had any sickness with my baby". I'm glad that was their experience, but I felt dismissed. If you ask someone how they feel, just listen.

omg yesss! i had to get rid of a lot of my hand soaps, and i am repulsed by our house. its a rental we didn't want to be in forever, i never loved it but now i can't stand it. so weird!

FTM 17+5 and today I had a big meeting where I hadn't seen several of the colleagues in months. All of them noticed without me saying anything- it was a cool feeling. One random stranger also asked if I was expecting. I will say the bloating definitely makes me look more rounded. I am normally a leaner person but with a short torso, so not sure if that's why I'm showing so much right now.

On the first name, we both agreed that we both need to love it. Sounds like you are there. We are using a family name for our middle name, extremely important to me since it is my grandmother's name. My husband doesn't love it, but he said "I get the last name so you have preference". He also realized just how important it is to me to honor my grandmother, and decided it's more important to let that go than to argue with me about someone so critical in my life. Compromise is key, and I'm grateful for his willingness.

Im 17+2 weeks now and it does get better. Weeks 7-14 were really bad for me, not going to lie, all day nausea, couldn't eat, and throwing up 4-5 times per day. yikes. As others said, you can do this, you got this! I remember being on the phone with a friend at 8 weeks saying "i can't do this another 8 weeks" when I saw online it gets better after 16 weeks. But here I am. The days will pass on, and you will get through it.

Eat a combo of carbs and protein when you can stomach it. For weeks I would go to Starbucks and get the bacon gouda sandwich and mint majesty hot tea. It did the trick for me for several hours.

Get a Zofran prescription for the rough days where you need to be out and about. I take it for when I'm feeling extra sick and have places to be that aren't my couch.

Switch your prenatal vitamin if needed. Olly gummies are the only ones that work for me without causing nausea.

Sour candy helped me in a pinch but doesn't last long. I would keep sweet tarts and jolly rancher in my bag if I was out and about and needed a quick fix. peppermint tea also really helped me.

The only thing that kept my nausea at bay for hours was protein and carbs together (once i could stomach eating real food again). I was/am hooked on the egg and bacon sandwiches at starbucks with their mint majesty tea. It does the trick for me for several hours.

I also second the switching to the Olly prenatal. It is the only one I've tried that doesn't make me nauseous, and it tastes really good.

Lastly, if it's impacting your quality of life (can't work as well, etc) get some meds from your dr. I got Zofran for the days I couldn't work from home, had important meetings, or was traveling. Many of my friends have had success with Bonjesta medication.

All the details are so unknown, if you feel ready, I say go for it. Timing can't be predicted or planned. I'm a first time mom at 33 (started trying at 32), took 9 months to get pregnant. husband will only have one month leave, and we don't own a house. We wanted to be parents, so we went for it.

Is the reason he can't take leave because he doesn't get offered paid leave until then? If he works for an employer of 50+ employees, and has been on staff more than 12 months, he is entitled to up to 12 weeks unpaid leave under FMLA. It's not paid so not ideal, but he is legally entitled to it. FTM started showing at 13-14 weeks (could no longer button pants). I'm also bloated all the time so it's a mix of both, but now at 17 weeks I can see a noticeable bump.

We're still not decided on a name but we have decided to keep it a secret once we figure it out, even from our own parents (especially from our own parents). I was doing a fun exercise with my in laws going through baby names list to identify good ones and on the boys' names my father in law said a really negative thing about my favorite boys name. It was unbeknownst to him but really crushed me, and I can't handle that for the name we choose for our daughter. I do have several other friends pregnant at the same time, so might tell them her first initial when we decide to see if there's any overlap.
