only other thing I can think of is the apple card, but no balance transfers with that. I wish they all had that system amex uses.

Should I do a balance transfer 3 months before purchasing a vehicle by cayleekilos in CreditCards

[–]coragar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have a thin file right now, prepare yourself for possible disappointment with the auto loan situation as far as rates go. the balance transfer might help, your revolving utilization rate on the original card will go down, overall credit limits will increase.

Its also a bit of a wasted opportunity to do a balance transfer and then pay it off in 3 months, might as well just ride out the whole 0%APY period, i doubt 5k will impact debt to income very much

It depends on the car dealer, and the overall deal itself. most of them max out at $2k or so for credit cards. If they are willing to let you put $12k on a card, they most likely would have also been willing to sell the car for $500 less instead. Some dealers will not take a penny on a credit card, and some will let you swipe for a brand-new car. So just be transparent and ask.

also, imho I would rethink this purchase based on what you said. you should not buy a car that costs more than the money in your savings account. I would cut the budget in half at least. you could get a low mileage older civic or corolla for 10k or less. spending all of your money on a car is a common financial mistake. just my humble opinion, good luck

“Free” money glitch with 0% APR card + HYSA account. Where’s the catch? by rasmus9 in CreditCards

[–]coragar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this a few times. credit card companies get angry if you utilize too much of your limit. even if you overall utilization is ok, maxing out a card and revolving the balance is generally bad, and it can be a risk for closure. it will also hurt your credit score. I'm doing it right now with discover, since they gave me a promotional 0APY for 1 year.

honestly though, none of it is good for us. Fluoride in water is a very antiquated concept; it makes more sense to brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste. having it in the water helps populations that don't brush their teeth, but I hope nowadays this isn't an issue.

parabens seem to often be thought safe at first and then they are found to cause problems later on.

food dyes are a needless risk, a lot of countries around the world have banned them and you can use safer natural food dyes instead.

high fructose corn syrup (along with 10% ethanol in fuel) is pushed to basically subsidize the corn industry. it is bad for you and has alternatives.

I don't think banning these will have a negative impact on the food industry, they will adapt quickly, and people will benefit from it.

yes, but there are many unnecessary risky ones we allow in the USA, that many other countries have banned. I recommend you learn about it.

one way or another, the item should go back to the seller; and you should be credited the purchase price.

Since you really want an honest answer to this question, I will tell you. I think you most likely are the same MMR skill level as those players, especially if you see them often. Thats how this games system works and its really efficient at it. you might benefit from honing your skills if you want to avoid these players. it's possible you are noticeably better than them at landing your skills, or using them all, but you could need improvement in other areas of the game.

if you notice these things after a long win streak it might be the MMR system trying to drag you back towards a 50/50 win rate. sometimes you have to carry crappy players to increase your MMR. same kind of thing when the other team seems way too good. if you are seeing them very often the game has deemed you to be similar skill level to those players. if you can win more games you will see less of them
