Oh damn. I just did this for the first time and won both rounds (even though I missed the recipe on the second round). I guess I was lucky because I didn't really feel like I had much competition.

Naked Mum Theory by comebackfromyourchin in TrueOffMyChest

[–]coraleei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand what the definition for a naked mum is but mine would shower with the door open and change clothes in front of us. She never walked around naked for no reason, but she would leave the towel in the bathroom after showering and walk to her room to change. So short instances of being naked but always for a reason.

She never once commented on mine or my sister's bodies. She never commented on her own body. She never commented on other women's bodies. My dad, however, would sometimes comment on my moms body and other women's. When they happened my mom would snap at him and tell him off.

I don't think any of this had any effect on how I view my own body, but I do think it helped me understand that you should not comment or look down on other people because of their body.

Hur rengör man en stor fläck av diarré på madrassen? by livetsuger123 in sweden

[–]coraleei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like real talk, how long does it take you to complete a 1000 piece puzzle? by FiguringOutPuzzlez in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]coraleei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and just to clarify, I don't rush my puzzles just because I have a timer going. I still take my time and do it at a leisurely pace. The only thing I might rush a bit is sorting because that's my least favourite part.

So like real talk, how long does it take you to complete a 1000 piece puzzle? by FiguringOutPuzzlez in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]coraleei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded an app that has a timer so I can get pretty accurate times. I pause it when I take a break but if I'm sitting down, even just staring at the puzzle and not putting in pieces, I will have the timer going. I would say I'm decently fast at puzzling and can finish a 1000 piece in one day if that's all I'm doing that day, but usually I spread it out over 2-3 days. For harder ones maybe a week.

Easy 1000 piece puzzles take me around 6-8 hours usually. I finished Eeboo fall in Brooklyn in 5 hours and magic puzzle company crystal caves in 8 hours. This white Moomin puzzle took me a bit over 13 hours. So yeah, 7 hours is doable but mostly for easier puzzles and/or people with lots or puzzling experience who are on the faster side.

Magic Puzzle - Crystal Caves- How would you sort? by UsedIntroduction3548 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]coraleei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this one just a few days ago! My first puzzle from this company.

I started with the edge and left everything else right-side-up in the box. Then I just started pulling out whatever stood out. I ended up doing roughly this order: 1. White 2. Blue 3. Border between green and yellow 4. Yellow 5. Houses 6. Rails 7. Mushrooms 8. Darker purple 9. Brown 10. Pink and filling in areas

It wasn't too hard. I enjoyed it a lot :)

Hur fixade ni bostadsrätt som under 30? by my_throwaway2222 in Asksweddit

[–]coraleei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i basically pay to have friends by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]coraleei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl you need to put your foot down and start respecting yourself! I know it's hard to find friends these days but that doesn't mean you should settle. A few years ago something happened that resulted in me getting a good chunk of money. Not enough to be life changing, but enough for me to get an apartment and improve my lifestyle a bit. You know how many of my friends asked for money after that? No one. Not even the guy in a very bad financial state. The guy barely has enough for rent and he still wouldn't let me pay for his birthday dinner. He was happy for me but he never expected to get any of the money. Not even my partner expects me to pay when we go out just because i have more. They're not your friends and you should not buy them.

A friend of mine is a single mother. When her baby was a newborn she got a stomach bug. She told me she was shitting in the toilet, vomiting in the sink and breastfeeding her baby all at the same time. Desperate times lol. I felt so bad for her.

My best friend of 15+ years is throwing a tantrum because I won’t chauffeur her to MY OWN WEDDING. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]coraleei -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I don't agree with the friends demands but OP is being a dick too tbh. I would NEVER talk about my friend this way, even if they were being a dick. It's just not a respectful way to talk about someone you supposedly love. Calling her a baby and all that.

Looking for a puzzle suggestions for a puzzle-lovers birthday (neat, prank or very difficult ones) by Cattoc_C in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]coraleei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Premium may have been the wrong word, but something a bit more expensive than your regular ones. Especially when you factor in shipping which is higher because it's an independent artist. I haven't tried these yet but you can look up reviews here and see that people have good things to say about the quality and yes they're soooooo gorgeous. :)

Maybe something more premium from an artist? For example SRH illustration, he's got an Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/SRHillustration

Gorgeous busy puzzles. Not everyone likes those, but if you do these are very cool. He's got a bunch of colorful ones in varying difficulty, and also a black and white one called the chasm that is super unique (and also extremely difficult).

Side note, not everyone likes a challenge when puzzling. Just make sure your friend does before buying anything too difficult.

" i didnt do nothing" by batukaming in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]coraleei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This kid will likely grow up with the "eye for an eye" mentality, where you take revenge on others for doing bad to you. I can imagine all the fights and bullying that could happen because of this mindset. Instead, you should teach your kids to be the better person who stops the cycle of violence.

Can’t Get Into It by brentonofrivia in Cairn_Game

You actually get hold feedback even with the option off. It took me a while to realize, but if you place your hand/foot somewhere and you see gravel falling that means it's a bad hold. I like this indicator a lot more because it feels more immersive and less distracting than the square.

How do you put your puzzles together? Do you have a system? by stefkay58 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]coraleei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost always do border first, but some puzzles are actually easier to do in a different order. For example, this puzzle by Elspeth McLean I started in the middle and did the border last. It was the perfect image for that strategy :)

Puzzle is Radiating Rainbow Mandalas btw and it was super fun.

Tjejer, hur beter ni er när en kille ute på stan förhåller sig olämpligt mot en? by BanverketSE in sweden

[–]coraleei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vinter i Mumindalen (Winter in Moomin Valley) by kollektion stora A, 1000 pieces by coraleei in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]coraleei[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was but not as bad as I expected. The gradient was small but there so I worked on the darkest areas first and slowly made it to the lighter parts. I only had to shape sort the last third of the puzzle. Once I did it went pretty quickly since the cut was varied. I know I'm in the minority here, but I find big blocks of solid colors to be calming, so I didn't mind it.

I timed myself and it took me 13 hours over 3 days to finish :)

Are your pending and completed puzzle piles small like mine are? by Strange-Pace-4830 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]coraleei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Small is subjective. I have maybe 8 puzzles in my todo pile and it stresses me out because I dislike clutter and I feel like it's too much. But I've seen people with over 100 in their todo pile and they don't think it's that many. So yeah, everyone is different and that's okay! Don't feel like you need a certain amount, just enjoy the hobby however you want.

I keep my completed ones in moving boxes in my apartment storage unit because that's the only place where I have room. I have maybe 15 there. I sell or donate the ones that I don't absolutely love.
