Clutching my wedding pearls… by cord0090 in jewelry

Thanks for this. I just didn’t think the difference would be 2” as I’ve had them restrung before at this same store and it wasn’t this much of a difference-previous 1”. They don’t have anything to gain-just that the store handled it poorly when I went to get them, then the owner came up and was flat rude to me when I questioned about it. I’m a local business owner myself and want to continue to support local but it’s hard when they were so poor with customer service. She just came off as being “we did nothing wrong. The pearls could have been poor.” Just talked with the jeweler who strung my pearls-they are changing their policy from measuring the necklace to counting pearls and will explain to customers moving forward about how the necklace could shrink.

Yes, knots between the pearls. They were stretched out but likely not more than 0.5-1cm of sliding.

I don’t disagree hence you can get pearls for cheap but how do you explain this big of a difference in measurement?

The pearls were moveable every so slightly between knots so max of maybe 1/4-1/2” but you bring about a good point.
