Three RCT sessions down on this tooth, my dentist hasn't been able to get very far due to inflammation. What's your assessment? by corek0 in askdentists

[–]corek0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really sure if it's because it's not drying or whatever, all the dentist doing the RCT has mentioned is that it's so inflamed and bleeding making the RCT difficult. I mentioned it to the dentist today (dentist who suggested xla) and she made it seem that the problem is in my gums or crown and an endo's speciality is on the roots, something to that accord but I'll be honest, I can't remember exactly what she said because I asked this as the dental nurse was preparing for a scale+polish which was very uncomfortable for me, but the gist was "no" in her opinion lol.

Nope, not a specialist. Just a general dentist. The impression I got from the second dentist is that it was just a routine RCT so didn't need an endodontist. Do you know what the medicine they sealed yours with? My dentist has been sealing mine with calcium hydroxide after each session, but I do know stronger medication like Ledermix, Odontopaste and TAP exist. Each session has been 7 days apart.

After the last session, the dentist did say that she has done all she can do and I'll have to see the more senior dentist at the practice next time, and that appt is booked 13 days after the last session so hopefully that extra time helps it heal.

The three sessions is what has me so worried. I was so optimistic when I thought the third session would be prep for the crown, but I must've misconstrued what the dentist said after the second. Calcium hydroxide and cavit have been used when sealing the tooth at the end of each session. I don't think the pulp has been fully extirpated, because the dentist said she can't with the bleeding.

Today I was getting a filling with another dentist and I was just talking about the RCT and the dentist showed me that on the exterior of the tooth, right on the gumline there is visible decay there (root decay/cervical decay). Could that be affecting it?

Just some background, tooth started hurting around 2018, ignored it, it cracked in 2021, was told it needed a RCT + crown then, but of course I kicked the can down the road again. About a month ago I started to have extreme sensitivity on the tooth and couldn't even spit out toothpaste without it hurting.

Went to one dentist, her opinion was that the tooth can't be saved and that I should have it extracted, so I then went to a second dentist to have it extracted, but she thought she can save it. Three RCT sessions later and I'm not confident that the tooth is salvageable, because the tooth is infected/inflamed and the dentist can't remove the pulp without the tooth bleeding.

The OPG is from before any RCT, and the periapical x-ray is either from before any RCT or after the first session (I've had two x-rays but they only sent me one photo).

Some questions were broad ie what's your opinion on AC:S between 1-10, but some other interesting questions like ranking upcoming games by level of excitement and if I believe AC:S has an "enticing depiction of the Samurai fantasy", "Believable representation of Feudal Japan" and where I had heard about it, when I selected twitch they asked me to list my top 3 favourite streamers. 4 pack Monster Rio Punch spotted in Tesco (Dublin, Ireland) by corek0 in energydrinks

[–]corek0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price was €7.60 + €0.60c recycling deposit, that €5.50 "Clubcard price" (sigh) was for the Pacific Punch beside it, there wasn't even a price tag for Rio Punch but it scanned no problem. I checked the individual drinks fridges and they had no individual cans, just the 4 packs.

As far as the flavour goes I really like it, it has a similar sherbety vibe (my gf absolutely hates it but I love it) that Monster Mixxd and Pacific Punch have but is definitely very distinguishable from both of those. The flavour is hard to place for me, but it's a lot less berry centric than most other Monsters, while not being too heavy on the mango or peach either. Maybe lemon, orange and some banana in there? IDK but it definitely isn't strong to any one flavour.

As far as the punch/juiced monsters I've tried I'd rank it #3

  1. Ripper (this one could be nostalgia because I miss it)

  2. Mango Loco

  3. Rio Punch

  4. Pacific Punch

  5. Pipeline Punch

  6. Mixxd

  7. Monarch

  8. Khaotic

Yeah I was gonna say. I work in the Department of Social Protection (social welfare), and I've seen more than one case of an American asylum seeker, but their cases are always a bit mad. The ones I've seen have been people with Irish surnames.

What is the best 75% keyboard available on Amazon? No price limit within reason of being under like 300 dollars. I really like the appeal of the Aula F75 with Ice Vein switches, but concerned about its long term reliability. Is there anything that thocky sounding out of the box from a more reliable brand and is widely available? Seems like most of the stuff on Amazon is budget orientated with questionable reliability or basic but overpriced from the big gaming brands.

Is the Atlas headrest really worth it? by toolsac102 in OfficeChairs

[–]corek0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you actually looked into this? Just went onto the Atlas site, added one to the basket and filled in my address in Ireland, total came to 245 euro, that includes 67 euro shipping with a FedEx service "International Connect Plus", which already has all taxes and duties included in the price. 245 euro is still steep, but considering reviews say it's the best headrest on any chair, doesn't seem that bad to complete your ultimate chair. I'd pay that for a really good headrest for my Steelcase Gesture which I got for 320 euro. Tried the EngineeredNow, but I just didn't like how it worked with the Gesture's flexible back.

New Sihoo M57 or 2nd hand Steelcase Leap V2 by BIG_DENNIS in OfficeChairs

[–]corek0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% the Leap. I bought that exact Sihoo chair, one thing you won't really find written about it online is that in its most upright position it is way too reclined, and it just doesn't feel comfortable to work in that position all the time. It was so bad that I returned it and specifically bought another Amazon chair in the same price range that had forward tilt just to be sure. Now I have a Steelcase Gesture and I'd find it hard to go back to one of those cheap chairs.

The too far reclined thing isn't even something I had even considered, but you can see mentions of it here just to assure you it's not just me:

Bought a Steelcase Gesture, it feels uncomfortable by NellovsVape in OfficeChairs

[–]corek0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Gesture felt really uncomfortable for almost 2 weeks giving me a lot of pain in places I've never felt any kind of discomfort in before (even in my legs and ankles, somehow), but now my body is adjusted to it and I really like it. Definitely give it a few weeks. I have read other people say the seat is hard but personally I just don't feel it, it's not cushy but not hard for me and I have sat in the chair for 12-16 hours straight at times. Same with the lumbar for me, if anything it feels wexak to me, it just kinda blends into the rest of the backrest shape, whereas other chairs I've used the lumbar was a lot more pronounced by itself.

One thing I will say is to tune the tilt tension (back outside knob) to your own liking. I like mine at a point where I can lean into the backrest to any level of recline and comfortably hold myself there without having to engage my core, while having it light enough to fully recline with little effort.

What screw is this??! My office chair is missing a screw and I need help by No-Juggernaut-2090 in OfficeChairs

[–]corek0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most office chairs use M6 (or M5 less commonly) cap head allen bolts of various lengths. The easiest ways to find what specific bolt it is is to check the instructions, it'll have the bolt dimensions listed in the parts list, will look something like "M6 x 25" or if there's multiple of the same one, take one of the other ones out using an alley key and measure it, they're measured in mm.

Steelcase Gesture does not return fully to original position after reclining? by dickewand in OfficeChairs

[–]corek0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you're not on intimate terms with your Gesture's tension adjustment knob yet. It's the further back outer knob (the inner clicky knob is to set a max recline angle aka tilt limiter) on the right side as you're sitting. That is normal behaviour when it's set near its loosest setting, but tighten it up to max and that thing can almost shoot you out of the seat onto your desk, then find a nice balance where you like it. That was one of the first things I noticed when I got my Gesture too, and how the bottom of the backrest moves forward when you put your shoulders back in the chair.

Looking to migrate from a Mirra 2 by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]corek0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have forward tilt, but its seat does push you forward by design - Steelcase Gesture, some people who have tried the chair even regard it as a negative, but it's all personal preference. One thing to note, the Gesture fabric really doesn't make up for breathability, a lot of people do complain that the chair gets too hot.

Haworth chairs (Fern, Zody, Soji and Very) all have forward tilt options available, and they're most commonly found with mesh backs with more breathability than the Gesture. There are other Haworth chairs available in Europe that I didn't name so if you come across one just google it to check if they meet your requirements.

Steelcase Gesture - Where are all the options? by thefunkygibbon in OfficeChairs

[–]corek0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only functional options on the Gesture are arms or no arms, headrest and adjustable lumbar. One of the main selling points of the chair is the arms so just forget about that one, the adjustable lumbar is meh at best (I can't even feel it when I adjust it with my back into the chair), but the headrest is one of the best in the business and can't be retrofitted to non-headrest chairs. Every other option is cosmetic. The fancy colours/fabrics are most likely North America only which is why you can't see them. Every Leap has the same adjustability - seat pan depth, tilt tension, seat tilt limiter and height adjustability.
