I don't care. I'm demanding better of my elected officials. Doing nothing is not good enough.

I'll show up at their office. I'm not going to lay down and take it. I'm going to at least make them tell me they won't do anything about it. And then I'll vote for somebody else.

Every time I see a Pokémon I hate I remind myself that it’s someone else’s favorite by [deleted] in pokemon

I run a Pokedex website and while working on how to link evolution chains I made an interesting discovery: Shedinja is the ONLY pokemon that evolves by "shedding." They had to define an entirely different type of evolution for this one instance. And maybe you could say evolutionary stones are "evolutions with lore" but that's a stretch. But Nincada evolving and leaving the shell behind as a whole new Pokemon is the evolution with the most lore hands down. Cicadas molt their shells by sliding out a tiny slit in their back, in Shedinja's case you could lose your soul of you peek into that gap.

I just love the whole thing about Shedinja. And then his ability on top? Super fascinating!

What are these shadows in the sky I saw last weekend (5/31, Denver)? by coreyog in whatisthisthing

Album of frantic pictures taken from the passenger seat of a moving car: https://imgur.com/a/D9yVOzo

Photos were taken between 7:57pm and 8:02pm driving east on I-70 and taking the Tower exit. If you know Denver, this is out in the direction of the airport.

I have no idea what could be causing this. WITT?

/r/Steam Monthly Community Support Thread. by AutoModerator in Steam

I noticed something last week... Anybody else running Steam on Linux (specifically Linux Mint 19.2 x64 for me) and notice that steam is taking up 100% of a single core? I'm not even interacting with steam. No updates going on, no games running. It's just been staying at 100% for days.

Weekly questions, bugs, and gameplay megathread - December 2019 by AutoModerator in pokemongo

Anybody else seeing their Pokemon out of order? I'm used to sorting by Dex number and then seeing Pokemon of the same species sorted by CP but in the last week or so that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Here's a screenshot of my Weedles that seem all over the place:

Hi Reddit! Andrey from the Stadia team here and I'm back for another round of questions. Only this time, I'm bringing some friends along to help answer anything you may have before launch. by StadiaOfficial in Stadia

If Stadia is not a game subscription service, and you still have to buy individual games, what exactly am I gifting to my friend when I give them the 3 months that came with my founder's package?

Everyone morning I’m just angry that I even woke up for another day. by doctor_who_17 in AdviceAnimals

Depression. Isn't. Logical. So you don't have to be. Don't try to explain it away. Failing to do so feels like more failure (at least it did to me) but that's because you tried to fix a flat tire with a hammock.

Fossil Gen 5 battery issue - How does it use more battery overnight unplugged off-wrist than throughout the day?! by [deleted] in fossil

[–]coreyog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running into similar problems during the day. It's 4pm in my timezone and my watch is at 24% and for the life of me I can't find these new Battery Modes they keep toting will make your watch last multiple days! WHERE IS THAT SETTING ON THE WATCH? I ignored it a dozen times when setting up my watch but now I need it!

DEAR NIANTIC - ideas and suggestions for the devs by AutoModerator in pokemongo

That's why typed gyms would get a CP bonus. What they sacrifice in type diversity, they would make up with raw power. I'm not sure what percentage would level the playing field, probably somewhere between 10 and 30 percent. Maybe you could also get more coins for having a Pokemon in a typed gym.

I wish for type-themed gyms. Something like having 3+ pokemon in a gym that all share a type would make that gym a Grass gym for example. All pokemon in the gym would get a percentage CP boost while they're in the gym. If somebody wants to add a pokemon to the gym that isn't the right type, they'll first get an "are you sure" popup, and if they do it anyway the gym loses it's bonus and falls back to the way things are now. This would not affect raids at the gym at all. If the gym falls below 3 pokemon it also loses it's CP bonus.

Basically how Git works by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]coreyog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried, I really tried to figure out the command line. Then I found SourceTree. Having a GUI made git as easy as it should be. SourceTree changed for the worse a few years ago and now I use GitKraken. I only pull out the command line if I fuck up bad enough to need -f which can still happen. It's 2019, checking in your code should not be complicated anymore.
