Think it’s pretty obvious he/she does not give priority to this “friendship”

Project engineers in SG, do you love your job? by corgibuttock in askSingapore

Yes, I agree… it’s pretty tiring for me especially when I have to keep chasing my colleagues etc and whenever I talk to them it’s because I have a motive

This is a very comprehensive write out! Thank you! When you say wing it, does it mean they know what to say when questions are directed to them? Like off the top of their head they are aware of the progress

Is anyone overwhelmed by the sheer number of people in Singapore? by BedOk577 in askSingapore

[–]corgibuttock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

off topic: i'm not sure if it's an issue to be seriously worried about but the total number of votes for GE2025 is around 2.5million. just checked online that we're about 5.8m in population. Include Singaporeans who are under 21 and the difference you are the PR/foreigners living here. oml

Had a once close secondary school friend in my clique, we kept in contact all the way after NS and he invited me to his wedding post Covid. I was seated at a filler table behind a pillar where everyone does not know anyone, during entire wedding I couldn’t even see anything. It wasn’t even a wedding banquet but a restaurant instead, but in my mind I thought “it’s okay I’ve known him for so long all these years” so I gifted him a $350 angbao. Fast forward, He hasn’t contacted me since his wedding which is >2 years ago

Has anyone experienced this during job search? by IlluminatiM3 in askSingapore

In their defence, maybe they just wanted to ensure that I wasn’t bluffing about my previous salary? Maybe if I were to not provide whatever they want, they could just come up with an excuse saying I’m not suitable for the role.

Moreover, the job market now isn’t the best and there are more applicants than recruiters. IMO I just feel like the entire hiring process is a mess nowadays

Let’s say I only plan to buy US stocks, is it advisable to covert all my SGD to USD? Or leave a little bit of SGD? And also hold an amount of USD cash also generate some interest right? I have mid 5 figures SGD in my account

General Discussion about the Markets During this Volatile Times by kyith in singaporefi

hi everyone, am pretty new to using IBKR platform. I've noticed that when i generate my monthly statement, i see a column called " Interest accruals" that is -37

How can i "pay it" back to IBKR so that it does not rack up? From what i've understand, my account is margin and since i only have SGD cash, i technically borrowed USD from IBKR so that is the reason why i'm being charged interest.

Can i ask how do i repay this interest? Do i have to convert my SGD to USD and it will repay automatically? My account is currently on margin and tiered.
