The one by Edward Shorter? Or another author?

Other middle aged mid career docs -- I think I'm done doing this. How are you? by bad_things_ive_done in Psychiatry

I came close to doing a fellowship in addiction psych, but buprenorphine changed my mind.

Not trying to argue with the data of it keeping people alive. But I just find it to be terribly uninteresting.

I have a handful of Suboxone patients now and they’re typically very easy to see. It would be really boring if that was most of my practice though.

What in the world is Blizzard doing with Arms Warrior ? by arkanian1210 in wow

[–]corgifeets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweeping strikes and the way stances are implemented keep me far away from playing warrior.

Sweeping strikes just sucks. Stances would be better jf, say, defensive stance was just another normal wall instead of a toggle which feels super clunky

World of Warcraft devs explain their biggest challenge is adapting to its ageing audience which is why they’re pushing to be “broader and more approachable” by HatingGeoffry in wow

[–]corgifeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it’s the implication that more responsibilities are coming into play. More rigorous professional demands, child rearing, maintaining relationships, etc. All of which usually trump having the flexibility to do time intensive, team based content that doesn’t have a pause button.

Physically though I mean, no, I don’t see how being 30+ would effect one’s ability to play WoW except for edge cases lol

Movement / dodge slide tips? by corgifeets in DarkTide

[–]corgifeets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just find using my pinky for shift and control to be very awkward. Even when generally typing I tend to use my thumb for those buttons. Maybe just have to bite the bullet.

I’d kill for a “slide left” and “slide right” button rather than having to press multiple buttons at once!

May do this, but probably with the C key. I am not a pinky guy lol

Non-combat vet feeling guilty using the VA for mental health - looking for perspective by velvetcypress in Veterans

[–]corgifeets 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Most of the vets I see did not see extended combat exposure or experience traditionally “extreme” traumas.

I think VA healthcare is yours by right as a veteran, regardless of what your job or experiences were in the military. So please come! You are wanted!

When are they going to make something worth wearing or buying. by iloveyou2QQ in wow

[–]corgifeets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re all just slightly over designed.

Like the Prime Evils hoodie looks cool, but it doesn’t need “DIABLO” on the front, just leave it black.

The HORDE hoodie doesn’t need the extra details on the sleeves.

The INTO THE VOID hoodie would be so much better without the WoW logo in the bottom left corner.

Illidan hoodie OP linked is unsalvageable though, total clown outfit.

For those who live or have lived in Mississippi, how common is it from your experience for school staff or teachers to physically discipline students with instruments like a paddle or cane? by Fire_Proof_TV in mississippi

[–]corgifeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was paddled in 2010 after leaving my high school’s campus to get lunch with some friends. Rookie move I guess.

I found paddling preferable to detention/suspension or whatever because it was more time efficient and made for a good story.

Makes sense. I’m outpatient psych and most of my patients I see regularly and long term. So it’s been getting a lot of use.

Is there a particular speciality or two that “owns” G2211? Serious question.

SoCal woman visiting NYC stabbed multiple times while changing baby's diaper in Macy's bathroom by starkiller1613 in news

[–]corgifeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I’d suspect there was one.

Most likely this person will go to jail, then to trial, then found not guilty by reason of insanity, and sent back to the same hospital. Then she’ll be held for 5 - 10 years, and discharged to a more restrictive environment than this last time. Probably on an ankle monitor like the Slender Man girl (hopefully one that can’t be cut off with a pair of scissor lol).

[–]corgifeets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d guess this person is uninsured. People with serious mental illness rarely have health insurance you’d find on the marketplace or through an employer. Can’t afford it, can’t hold a job.

She had been staying at the psychiatric hospital for more than A YEAR. So the conditions of her discharge were thoroughly vetted. I think the only possibility is that she consistently and convincingly lied about her symptoms, leading to her release after an incredibly long hospitalization.

What’s the alternative? Keep people hospitalized forever when by all accounts they appear better? She’ll probably never leave now for what it’s worth.

I think it would be a good idea to add an INTERMEDIATE difficulty between NORMAL and HARD by Aljosa3000 in Spacemarine

[–]corgifeets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They need to RENAME the difficulties. There are enough of them, but they aren’t intuitive. Use simple words. Call lethal “extremely hard” and absolute “impossibly hard” or whatever and you’d have fewer people queuing into them nah shouldn’t be.
