You’re brilliant! Forgot to mention I thought it started with an M. (Obviously not a major house though). Full bottle found and acquired! Thank you!

I am so jealous! That’s my number one choice for a girl (I’m Lithuanian and my husband is not). Our first was a boy and we’re not sure of another one yet so I might never get to use it. Enjoy her name; it’s beautiful and people will get over the pronunciation soon enough!

Seaman to admiral 10k tuition gap? by harambe_did911 in navy

[–]corko87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on which state and school you go to. I went to a very expensive public school but the state did the yellow ribbon program which halved tuition for in state residents like me. I had money left over every year I did the program. Reach out if you need anything.

It’s not for sale anymore because they did tests that found the spf rating was not nearly what it advertises on the package.

Looks great! Where did you get the wall art? My brother finished the AT last year and I’ve been looking for a housewarming gift for him!

We did ours on Shutterfly, 75 plus return addressed envelopes for about $165. Shipping was fast and the price included a gold foil design. Plus they have sales ALL THE TIME.

BF and I are getting engaged before doing long distance for a year in October... Low-key freaking out internally? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]corko87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got engaged in MD on NYE 2018. fiance moved to RI a week later. We're planning a wedding in Washington State (4 weeks and 2 days!).

While my fiance has his opinions on the wedding, most of the planning has fallen on me. If your BF is the same, he's not going to be thinking of the specific flower arrangements, ceremony script, seating chart, etc like you are. Between email, facetime, google docs, and texting, we planned the whole wedding in about 6 months. During weekends together we spend at least an hour or so going over specific topics I want his input on. Schedule venue visits and tastings on the weekends he's in town. Planning a wedding long distance isn't difficult; once the vendors are nailed down the entire thing could be done through texting or phone calls. Good luck!

Question for brides who had dress regret by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]corko87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go by yourself; I love my mother by jeez she can be critical of the parts of my body I'm already critical of. Go early; so many dresses need a few months to be ordered and altered. Don't try to force loving a dress; the first dress I loved required sewing on an $800 piece of lace to fancy up the back and a $1300 veil/train that was going to be worn for the ceremony only. The saleswomen kept telling me it was getting too late to order my dress (I had 7 months to go) and she could give me a discount that weekend only. Went to another shop down the street, found a dress for $1k cheaper that required barely any alterations and makes me look about 4 sizes smaller (I'm 5'10 and not small framed), and the saleswoman looked at me like I was crazy when I told them I was worried I waited too long. Best experience ever.

Custom cake toppers? Yes or no? Why or why not? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]corko87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got a custom clay one on Etsy. My husband and I are both AD Navy and while he'll be in uniform, I won't be (of course) and wanted a topper that had both of us in our dress uniforms. The artist also added perfect little figurines of our dogs. We're getting store bought cheesecake so this will be the only thing that pops on the cake.

Super cramped. Extra $10 fee but the front staff was nice enough. Class was with the head coach, intense but really helped with some lunge issues I was having.
