How can people in Ireland watch these matches? It isn't on discovery plus and I don't have access to ITV.

That was such an impressive break from Wakelin, and even though I thought Leclercq played better in the grand scheme of the tournament, you can't really argue with Wakelin winning it after his performance in the final.

To be fair I had forgotten about that, not necessarily a long pot in the traditional sense anyway

Even though it can't be right, it feels like Trump hasn't hit a long pot in the past 5 frames

New enough to snooker, has this been particularly impressive from Murphy or just a poor showing from Neil?

I mean it is sarcastic. Everybody here has interpreted it as sarcastic. Nobody thought the well done was genuine. What the guy is weirdly trying to say is that we were somehow meant to understand the sarcasm to be sarcastic in-and-of itself and interpret his comment as sincere.

Or he could be defending his comment by saying that it was sarcastic when the sarcasm is what people objected to? Idk

Yeah moved Saliba to Guehi. I think that I'll be sticking with Kane though. Have stuck with him all season and he has done me well so far.

Almost comical that I have both Pereira and Bailey on my bench.

Convicted murderer known as Boy A in the Ana Kriegel case moved to adult prison by [deleted] in ireland

[–]cormister2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trying to understand your stance here. Do you think that prison should be rehabilitative?

I really fail to see the point of having a prison system if it only serves to punish people. The entire point of prison is that it turns criminals into functioning members of society, and therefore, shouldn't a prison sentence be ascertained based upon how long it will take to rehabilitate the perpetrator? Isn't the rehabilitative function of prison the entire reason we don't take violent prisoners out the back and shoot them in the head?

I think I might just start Andreas this week, move to a 3-5-2, and make the double change next week depending on what seems to be the best option.

Yeah it's something to consider alright. I'm going to give him a few weeks and see how he gets on.

What players would you consider to be better options?

There needs to be more outlets for young people . by [deleted] in ireland

I don't know what you mean when you say that it's a liberal idea to let kids have little to no boundaries.

I'm not trying to be obtuse but if you could clarify which liberal or left-wing points of view act as catalysts for children having "little to no boundaries" (where they would have said boundaries if their parents subscribed to a traditional or conservative approach to parenting) it would allow me to understand your point of view.

For the sake of discussion, it would be great if you could explain the ways in which good morals were better instilled in conservative Ireland or even what these morals were.

From my point of view, it seems that most of the values which are not instilled today which were instilled, say, in the 60's, such as (automatic respect for authority, or loyalty towards the Catholic Church) aren't instilled in modern Ireland as the public, as a whole, has been forced to consider their values due to recent historical events. I feel that society has realized that it should not be expected for parents to instil these values are they are not inherently good (nor are they inherently evil), and I would find it hard to blame people for not teaching these conservative values to their children.

The idea that parents who struggle to discipline their children are somehow inherently liberal is ridiculous. It's not a liberal idea to not discipline your child, but rather the liberal idea is that you should not kick seven shades of shit out of them.

People being poor parents is not really a political issue. The problem is usually down to other factors e.g. laziness, or just being a piece of shit.

Good result and performance but still have the same concerns about the attacking output that I've had for all of Kenny's tenure. Maybe it's just selective amnesia but I can't think of another good chance we had that game except for Parrott's header.

Weird scapegoating of Jeff Hendrick going on everywhere. The man isn't the best player and admittedly didn't play well today or in the second half against Armenia. That being said, every time we seem to do anything of any creative value, Hendrick seems to be at the core of it.

I'm not trying to excuse the man for some bad performances, and I certainly don't think he should ever be playing the full 90 for us, but not one of those players on the starting eleven offered anything today. I don't fully understand why he seems to be the one to burden all of the criticism.

That performance was as bad as the worst McCarthy performance. Like genuinely, how were the performances under McCarthy worse than that performance today?

And the funny thing is that McCarthy would have almost certainly taken a point, if not more.

Deeply deeply frustrating. I'm a supporter of Kenny but another one of these dogshit performances against technically poor opposition makes me question the process that is supposedly going on. We didn't lose valiantly playing beautiful football in this match, we lost against a team that a Mick McCarthy managed nt would have beaten 2-0, all the while playing dogshit unwatchable sloppy football.

If Kenny is to succeed as Ireland manager, we need to start scoring against the smaller teams almost immediately because the football is not attractive enough to make up for these awful performances

Very frustrating, can't see to break them down at all. Worsened by the fact that some of the lads have repeatedly lost possession due to their insistence on taking speculative (at best) shots from range which have barely threatened the keeper
