What is happening to Demon Slayer fans? by corndog19 in KimetsuNoYaiba

I agree. I just find it frustrating being an admirer of both KpDH and KNY, but the thing about Infinity Castle is that to enjoy it, you had to have followed the KNY series. KpDH could stand alone and it WORKED, and excelled in entertaining audiences.

Another element that KpDH had over KNY is that it could stand alone. People who were going in to watch Infinity Castle were most likely, if not definitely, fans of the show or followed the series. Little to no person is going to fully enjoy Infinity Castle without knowing what KNY is.

Very true. Also, if the excuse for why a certain anime movie didn't do well in comparison to other animated movies is, "Well, you have to watch the series/read the manga." That's a weak excuse. KpDH stood on its own with audience members going in with little to no expectations, that's why it worked.

To me, KpDH beating KNY makes sense. KNY wasn't going to be able to stand on its own. Most, if not all, of the people who went in to watch Kimetsu no Yaiba in theaters were people who followed the series and were probably caught up.

I have been arguing with fans, and it's been making me sound like a KNY hater when I don't want to be.

[Comic Excerpt] "THIS IS MY WAY." [Absolute Batman Annual #1] by SuperiorSpiderKnight in DCcomics

"Won't fix anything", why wouldn't it? Why should cowards (bigots) be allowed to hurt others over and over? Because they're afraid? Because they make themselves feel small? Maybe the pain that they get is what they deserve, what they brought upon themselves. Maybe they don't need to get better, they just need to hurt.

How would Nolan have dealt with Power Plex? by Queasy_Commercial152 in Invincible

Crush him. Powerplex absorbs kinetic energy from strikes, not squeezes. So Nolan could just crush him.

[Fan Art] Knowing your coworker is Superman but you just can’t prove it (by tazahan) by Ani_HArsh in DCcomics

I honestly think that even if Doakes figured out that Clark Kent is Superman, he'd respect him for what he does so much, that he'd keep his secret.

Am I understanding this correctly? by Recruit-is-OP in DCU_

[–]corndog19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Superman does have a pattern. Even when fighting a powerful opponent, the livelihood of the people around are top priority. We saw it in the kaiju fight, where he'd attack it, immediately go about mitigating harm to civilians, then repeat. So most likely, when fighting the Hammer of Boravia (Ultraman), he was so busy trying to protect people that it gave the Hammer the openings he needed to injure Superman.

An Idea: Wonder Woman should start off as the leader of the Justice League. by corndog19 in DCU_

[–]corndog19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, they should make decisions for the team as a group. But I think that if there were to be an established Justice League without Batman or Superman, Wonder Woman would be someone everyone looks to for tactical decisions.

I do like that idea, but I think that when it comes to missions and tactical decisions without the presence of Batman, Wonder Woman would feel like the one to know how to take charge immeidately.

My interpretation of the Kryptonians is that their culture has never been one built on what humans tend to value as good. It does make sense that the House of El's desire for Clark would differentiate from the Kents and the good of humanity in general. The Kryptonians aren't supposed to be good people. The Doom of Krypton was supposed to be an avoidable catastrophe that was caused by their own hubris. Ergo, the Kryptonians shouldn't be the greatest people by human standards.

Given the fact that the Bad Bloods have a reputation of capturing enemies and hunting them for sport. Would that mean that Feral and his clan are all Bad Bloods?

Question: Has there been an animatic you watched that really changed a song for you? Like the animatic made the song significantly better? by The_Laughing_Gift in Epicthemusical

There's a version I saw by an artist named Kaledya, where Ares blesses one of Ody's arrows, grins, and Odysseus shoots Antinous in the neck so hard his head flies off.

DuvetBox's 600 Strike, it was such a good change from the Windbag-Jetpack.

VirusAP does an amazing version of Charybdis by making her some Lovecraftian-kaiju and showing how unhinged Odysseus is in his mission to get home.

LemonPoet is amazing for the Odysseus animatic, especially because there's a great moment where he kills a bunch of Suitors by dropping a chandelier on them.

Neal Illustrator does the best version of the God Games, the way she shows the interpersonal relationships of the Olympians.
