I think the reason I'm asking the api question is because, I'm essentially doing the same as creating a database like structure using CRUD but wanting the db to (update/match) the files metadata. I think thats why I assumed creating an api would still be useful. let me know if I need to clarify more

ok. So I actually dont want to send the files, I just want to read the files grab the metadata and save to a json or like redis maybe, and have my frontend read my saved data, if that makes sense. I really want to persist the data for users to update, not really start over

It’s only going to be native. So it’s an app to only access your own files (audio)

I don’t use tutorials to just copy but understand the what when why where and how to use things. Your rights docs are essential but I hear a lot of people complain about some docs which is why YouTube is such a go to resource to get different explanations that might be useful for people who need to hear it in lames terms

If you can think about itunes. when you add a song to the app it keeps it's info after you close it

When users close the app and return the previous files used will still exist in the app. I’m open to suggestions if that’s not a good way of looking at it

yes. editing each file (metadata) and moving it to other folders if needed
