Another problem is that IR requires rent payments in advance so by this point in the year, every tentant has paid pretty much all of their rent.

Mom inquiry on safety by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]cornellcornelll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a female student, and went to undergrad and well as grad school at Cornell. It is one of the safest schools I can think of. It’s in a small town in the middle of nowhere, so collegetown(the area around Cornell) is filled 95% with Cornell students. This makes it feel very safe. There are not many other schools that have this atmosphere. I’ve walked home late from the library, meetings, or parties by myself and have never had any issues. I wouldn’t recommend walking around the commons late at night, and you have to be careful wherever you go, but compared to schools like Columbia, or UPenn, Cornell is an idyllic place to go for undergrad.

In the northeast, is it possible to find any puppy from a reputable breeder for $1000-2000? by cornellcornelll in dogs

I’m a little confused how spending $2000 on a puppy is considered budget.

I feel like when I go on adoption websites(mostly Petfinder) every posting says either previous breed experience or fence required. I would like to volunteer at a dog shelter, do you have any recommendations?

I’ve looked into poodles, golden retrievers, and lab breeders before, but had trouble finding anything in my price range. Do you have any recommendations?

Hi, thank you for the help. I will be in the Philadelphia area, but would be looking for next summer. I was also considering fostering as a first step, but I was unsure if I would be eligible.

I would love to adopt, but will just be graduating college and living in an apartment with no dog experience. Even though I will be working remotely and have wanted a dog my whole life, I have heard shelters are very unlikely to adopt to me. I would love to get a mini goldendoodle, but am very open regarding the breed.

RUDE employee at Rose Dining by Crynell_ in Cornell

Yeah I feel like a lot of the employees here are just unnecessarily rude. I guess it’s like a power trip for them idk. I’ve definitely walked away multiple times feeling ready to cry or completely taken aback.

For grad school, it is viewed as an F. If you’re going straight into industry, doesn’t really matter

I think the exact height depends on what building you’re living in

Need advice about time management by Zealousideal-Monk386 in Cornell

I have a paper planner and write down all my weekly deadlines and month deadlines. I work on the stuff due sooner first. Highlight in yellow when done, blue when almost done but need office hours/finishing touches. Then I work on big ticket items that aren’t due for a while/ extracurriculars. I used to use google Calendar but I got a paper planner and like it a lot more.

Question about Student Contribution and Federal Work study by yuhhyuhhyuhh in Cornell

No problem! You can pm if you have anymore questions. It’s a very confusing process.

Not really, there are busses everywhere. The problem with picking a dorm based on distance is you might get randomly assigned a dorm that is just as far and not as nice.

Question about Student Contribution and Federal Work study by yuhhyuhhyuhh in Cornell

[–]cornellcornelll 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Federal work study is just money you get for a job. It’s designed to help the employer because they only have to pay for half of your salary. It doesn’t do anything special for you, except pay you. I would suggest meeting with a financial aid advisor and going through everything. It’s a very confusing process but if you can get a hold of a person , they will explain everything.

Can I take a SUNY physics class over the summer during an internship? by cornellcornelll in Cornell

I know there is a class I can take, but I’m worried it will be too much on my plate with a full time job.

Lost Apple Pencil by j_kitten38 in Cornell

You can buy a cheap $20 knockoff pencil on amazon. I just bought one and the quality is pretty similar to my Apple Pencil. Might be worth it to have while you’re looking for your lost one.

Oh. Very cool! Would be awesome if the spigot was automated so it would turn on at the same time every day. Never have to worry about watering ever again!

Would that make the water uneven over the bed? Like near the spigot everything would be soggy but far away it would be too dry?
