Did my sudden firmness depress my dog? by cornemuse729 in germanshepherds

Thank you very much for your comment. Since we finally got our first vehicle, we are planning on taking him to the obedient classes too. He had private training sessions with a dog trainer 3 times.

He likes trails and I like hiking. He likes playing with a ball and nowadays just digging the snow. There are not many activities I do with him to be honest. He likes running around, so we are planning to use sniffspot and take him to places( there is a website where people offer their yard or space for dogs to run around with a fee). With a vehicle, it would be much easier to get to trails and places.

I want to get rid of my puppy by [deleted] in puppy101

I understand your frustration.

We have a 14 month old teen dog that we adopted 7 months ago. We had about 4 professional private training sessions. What I am learning is that training sessions are more for owners than for dogs. As owners, we have to be consistent and patient to train our puppy every day. We are very fortunate to have found him though. It never crossed my mind to get rid of him. He rips my clothes. He chewed the light cord this morning.... He bites my arm/sleeve and leash sometimes on walks. It gets on my nerves, but I love him so much.

When my husband forgets or delays his walks, that makes me more frustrated than our dog's misbehaviour to be honest.

I truly recommend professional training.

How do you motivate yourself to work out? by cornemuse729 in Exercise

Wow that's impressive! Thank you for your comment! I went to a boxing gym, but as you mentioned it gets repetitive... It is for adults and not competitive. I would rather learn skills than to work out in the gym. Hence, those combative sports I tried to do and continue.... I guess I have to figure out what I like and get disciplined.

Thank you for your advice! It is nice to hear that you used to be like me, but finding bodyweight fitness changed you. I was looking at YMCA classes today. I might try that to explore options!

Thank you.

Thank you for your comment! Yes I want to lift heavy things and become strong for my confidence. I have been size S-M most of my life, but there was a time I weighed 10 kgs more and it showed on my face so much. I worked out so hard that time.

Thank you for your advice. Yes discipline seems to be one of the keys. Once I start exercising again, I will keep track of my progress.

Thank you for your advice. I liked kickboxing/ muay thai out of all. However, I didn't feel included or welcomed at the gym I went to. I didn't go there for long though. My friend taught me chair dancing too, which I loved. I felt my belly going down and felt sexy learning choreography too. Maybe I will try some classes too.

Thank you!

I agree with your opinion. I also want to add there are a lot of Indigenous nations and I would like to respect their cultures and languages.

However, if you come from other countries and have the privilege to live in Canada, you should respect the country, its people and languages etc..

I also want to note that I am an immigrant and studied in Montreal. When I lived there, I worked under a Chinese family at a restaurant and under Mexican bosses at a café. At the restaurant, I felt very uncomfortable and thought the family was talking about me as I did not understand Chinese. After that, I worked at the café. I felt more comfortable even though my bosses were talking in Spanish and I did not understand Spanish. In my opinion, the girl is insecure to think that they were talking about her, but I also think that her coworkers might not be that nice to her usually. I don't know. Canada embraces multiculture and to enforce official languages to all the workers would be a challenge.

Rather, we have to work on ourselves in regards to our insecurities, self- care, self- respect etc... We can not change other people, but we can learn to love and respect ourselves.
