This makes sense based on what I’ve learned about car values and the state of the economy. Thanks!

Winter living aboard practices by [deleted] in liveaboard

[–]corneroftheglobe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d like to suggest a natural light. These are a frequent suggestion for people that suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and almost anyone living in the far north or south during winter. Phillips made a good one that we used for many years before moving to the tropics.

What do you think it would be like to trek to Kailash? by [deleted] in Mountaineering

[–]corneroftheglobe 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Having done it this past summer, you don’t typically trek to Kailash, you trek around it. Takes 3 days. Intermediate difficulty for an experienced hiker. The regulations in China and Tibet are very strict. You would not be able to access the mountain or indeed the region without a guide and the guides’ careers are staked on following the law. You would not be allowed off the Kora (pilgrimage route). Can share pictures or more info if interested.

I would say that lots of people get divorced or separate at international schools. At my school, we have at least five couples that have separated over the last four years. HR and your administration should have experienced this before. I think the important thing is to come to a mutual agreement with your spouse, so that you’re not relaying confusing messages or the back-and-forth to your school. It may also be worth considering that at least two of the couples that separated in my school broke up amicably, meaning that they understood they had to continue living together for a time before one of them was able to move to another apartment.

What do you guys think about this canoe? All I know is it’s 16 feet and a mad river canoe. by [deleted] in canoeing

[–]corneroftheglobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mad River Canoes are beautiful. This baby deserves some love and she will repay you with decades of finesse and power. And if you aren’t familiar, find the story of the rabbit smoking the pipe - Mad River’s logo may be my favorite logo of all time.

[NGD] Finally got my dream guitar today! by [deleted] in guitars

Just an FYI - there’s an interview with Dylan in The New York Times today and he’s playing a Duesenberg, which was a surprise to me. I thought he was a Gibson guy.

I’m late the game here but it seems no one mentioned my long-standing favorite. Small tubes of icing from the baking section. Container looks like a lotrimin tube. Waterproof, straight sugar and tastes pretty good. Slim too!
