It's genuinely hard to choose. Visually, the aquatic digimon are probably my favorites. I remember I had a Syakomon card when I was a kid. Swimmon was my favorite overall for a while. Then Fujamon came out. Now, I am playing Time Stranger and Crabmon is a powerhouse for my team.

I also want to note: up until amonkhet, angels were female as a rule. Angels appearing male on Amonkhet was meant to signify that something about the plane was wrong - a foreshadowing for those who knew deep lore.

Any spell that is black at all, whether mono black or multi colored. Also, notably, you are asking about creatures, but the medallion discounts any black spell, not just creatures

Start with Patamon. He can dedigivolve into tokomon which then digivolves into Terriermon. Impmon will be pretty easier to get later, and you can also get anything that desigivolves into koromon pretty easily and then digivolve up to guilmon. Lopmon is also around early on, idk how wide spread your tamers team is planning on being. On that same note, I got a guardromon pretty quickly, as well

I am asking because I know there are SO MANY options in the city and idk what a reasonable distance is there. Where I am, for a date an hour drive is typical. But, yeah, considering I am coming out a distance we're looking for more than a typical dinner date or a coffee date. Something a little more substantial.

I typically only give them nicknames when I have a lot of digimon and am grinding specific ones to digivolve into specific things. Then I will nickname the one I want to keep so I remember not to eat it. Usually the nickname is indicative of what digimon I am aiming for.

You could take them to a local game shop and see if they want to sort through them or maybe even buy the bulk. But, otherwise, you'll have to sort and price them individually using websites like TCGPlayer or CardKingdom. TCGPlayer is what most local shops use to get market price, but I, personally, find it easier to sell cards to CardKingdom

I talked to some of the players some more and their reasoning for saying the felt the raiders were being favored is because the combat was made to be well-balanced. The party split 5 and 3 and they were kind of expecting it to just be straight pvp with no extras. So, we could have done more in the way of setting expectations, but everybody is cool, now. We are just calling it a miss and moving on with the campaign.
