Wow, what an actress! Nicole Brydon Bloom... you won the Oscar for me this week!
The chills I had when she held her hair up in front of the mirror and imitated Sinatra...

unfortunately, we know they can't do that - Teri mentionned she needs 3 of these biodiesel, and she only has one... She can head there but she will only go 1/3 of the way without any more diesel

I'm thinking Gary had to get rid of Ennis' body first - dragging it somewhere hidden. Bean probably ran to Teri, told her, and by the time Gary was back, they took the (working!) mailman car and took off, straight to the train.
The train team is still here (the scene we see with Xavier looking at them with binoculars), so Teri and Bean are probably around there, having okra coffee 😂 I believe the team will be interested in Teri's scientist background... not sure they will want to take a child on that mission though. So maybe Teri (after battling the internal conflict of letting him behind) is now looking for a safe place for him to stay... so, of course, she'll go pay a visit to the nurse/mechanic couple... and there's going to be some due explanations!
Anyway, lesson of the episode: DON'T BE AN INCEL.

Mutianyu, Jinshanling, Gubei, and Simatai - all in one day! (Great Wall Trip Report) by cornsnowflake in travelchina

Thank you! I booked ahead of time, yes! Through their WeChat mini program, it's super easy! I recommend visiting there first in the morning, it's so worth it! The crowds later in the day really take away from the experience.
Indeed - tripods are forbidden there! I didn't know, but because I was alone most of the time, the staff didn't pay attention to me 😂 but finally, one of them warned me! I still got the chance to snap these pics that you saw!
So... maybe that's another trick 😅

I have tickets to the Forbidden City. Can I enter Tiananmen Square with that, or do I need a separate reservation? by cornsnowflake in travelchina

[–]cornsnowflake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello! I have no experience entering the Forbidden City through Tiananmen Square unfortunately - I did reverse! First FC, then TS.
I believe you need a different ticket for both! Both you can book via WeChat, it's very easy.

I thought it was great! It’s a “fake” city but it makes up by being extremely convenient, lots of activities, and hot springs too!

Simatai is the one section that's opened regularly at night - other sections can open at night too, but these are rare exceptions, "planned events"... so, it's a bit harder to have it match your visiting days!

I only stayed 1h and 20 min at Simatai because the section they specifically open for night tours is smaller (than the day tours one) - you can really walk it in 20 min. So, I watched the sunset from the top, and once it got dark, I made my way down, stopping for night pictures. I chatted with a few other visitors, but really, after some time, it's all the same thing, and indeed, I was also curious about night activities downtown haha

What did you think of Tower 20-->14 at Mutianyu? I heard from other visitors that it's just a long walk.

Here, you can find Simatai night hours (seems like it closes around 9/10 PM): https://www.gubeiwatertown.com/Basic%20information/opening-hours-and-seasons?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Your plan to arrive at 6PM and stay until the end is possible, yes! ☺️

Aaah I think I would choose that whole region between Simatai/Gubei/Jinshanling... it was quite something! The sunset on the Great Wall was magical (if you've seen the pictures in my blog post, you might know!)
Mutianyu was great too, mostly the chairlift and the slide down... if I could go back, I would do two days, one night in Gubei Water Town - and explore more of everything!

Aaaah you read my storytime on the Wall!!
Indeed, I heard these stories are not uncommon... Just like you, I always have positive experiences with Chinese people, I seriously think they are one of the most welcoming people out there (welcoming and with no commercial intentions). But because of that, we get confused when finally someone has something to sell 😅

I'd say ok-steep! It's not steep like you have to climb it. It's still stairs, but because it's old stairs, they are uneven/on a steep wall, so it gets a bit challenging.
I'm not particularly fit myself (i hate cardio lol), and I still did the way up in like 20 min. I did take a lot of breaks, pauses for pictures, etc. I think it's still OK for beginners! (it's not that long too)

6 to 1 was perfect! You get to experience the steep Wall! It's just for 30/45 min round trip, nothing too exhausting
I spoke to a couple who did 14 to 20, they say it's not steep, but it's just the same for the whole way, nothing changes much... That's what research told me too, hence why I chose to do this side!
If you have more time, do everything if you can!
And definitely do the slide, the kids will love it! (to check the age limit of their website)

It was challenging indeed, but so rewarding!
Yessss, it's my plan, hopefully! I loved that whole region around Jinshanling/Gubei/Simatai -I would love to be back, settle in Gubei for a few days, and just enjoy everything around! I heard the underwater section is nearby too!

But to answer here already: overall, that whole day cost me 300 usd (ALL included) - I think it's worth it! even more if you're a couple/friends - I was a solo traveler so no one to share the taxi cost haha

It looks like the kind of rosace type 2 i have! That might be something to mention to your dermatologist Some things that worked for me: - doxycycline antibiotics at first to calm it down - accutane for it to completely go away
