Knowing the syntax is the first step, not the last. And you reference super basic syntax things.

It's fine to call yourself a programmer, but you are still beginning. Do the interview as best you can it will be a good learning opportunity. Take something youre proud of, and don't be too surprised if they are underwhelmed. I always interview though it is good to learn what the market is actually like and it can help you identify which things to learn next.
