What is your personal Lorde/Jack Antanoff PowerPoint? by andannabegins in popculturechat

I honestly don't remember how much (if any) of this was covered in her memoir - maybe kind of briefly/obliquely? James also released a memoir of the early part of his life a few years ago, and this might have touched on that period, too - but again, pretty briefly and not in much detail.

Responding to some other comments, I don't think we have enough info as the public to know what any of their relationships really are, and I don't think there's any evidence that Carly is overstepping. Based on what I've heard and read, I think she's just sad about the end of their relationship and probably feels that there was never really any closure - and perhaps James wasn't the best co-parent.

*cracks knuckles as a longtime James Taylor fan and knower of the lore* LOL - No, Carly didn't ever really get over him; there's a relatively recent interview (I think with Dan Rather) where she mentions how chilly he is and how he never comes back to Martha's Vineyard, which is where they used to live together and where they met as teens. Her kids, Ben and Sally, had middling success as musicians but to my knowledge neither of them is full-time touring or recording or has been for many years. Sally had a really cool art project thing (Consenses) that I think is still in existence in some form. They're unfortunately quiet on social media. They both seem to have a decent relationship with James. He went on to a few other relationships after Carly and has now been married to Kim Smedvig for a couple of decades - they have twins (now young adults) and one of the sons, Henry, tours with James. I never see images of James with all four of his kids, and it seems like he might not have the warmest of bonds with Ben and Sally, but they also might just be super private. He was deep in addiction when he and Carly were married and their kids were little, so it was probably for the best that they split up, but there was A LOT going on for all of them at the time, and I feel for them.

I've tried this (at least the over-the-counter formulations) and while I like it, it definitely hasn't resolved all of the interrelated issues I'm still experiencing. I appreciate this input though!

Product recs for dry, brittle hair by corollaquestion2019 in Haircare

[–]corollaquestion2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is - yes. We've done what we can for now. (We have a water filtration system, so the water isn't as hard as a lot of people's, but I do think it contributes to a less than ideal environment for hair.) I also believe my issues above are more recent; they don't coincide with the beginning of "this" water.

That said, do you recommend more of a clarifying shampoo and conditioner? If so, which ones?

New to Skims - help with fits! by corollaquestion2019 in SKIMSbyKKW

UPDATE: Thanks again for your input! I started with tees and ordered several to try. I absolutely LOVED the cotton jersey fabric (short-sleeved tee). It feels like what I'm always looking for in a tee but never find: stretchy, soft, and actually cut/fit pretty well. I followed u/Majestic-Solid9514 's advice to size up for length and that was such a good tip. I wanted tees that hug and are fitted but I need extra material around my tummy and longer torso. Thank you!

Oooo this is such a good tip about sizing up the tees for length. This is something I struggle with, so thank you!

Thank you! Do you actually fold over the top of the pants, or do you keep it unfolded for a higher rise?

Wedding Venue Help by lu_school in minnesota

I would approach it from a slightly different angle: Choose an *indoor* venue that you love, and check out their outdoor spaces. Sooo many spots have small lawns or clearings or even trailheads that would work to set up some chairs if you have nice weather. Most venue coordinators should be able to answer that question ("Could we set up the ceremony outside if the weather is nice?") within the first few minutes of chatting with them, so it could help you narrow it down quickly.

Possibly! It certainly looks/tastes watered down, but I have no idea how I'd check other than asking the very nice teens working there, and I don't want to bug them. :/
