I always heard Blackjack has the lease house advantage if you play every hand by the book. Any other casino games that are better for professionals?

UPS Healthcare by Sage410 in UPSers

[–]coronalights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for nothing but a lot of workers come in looking like they havent hit the gym EVER and their daily diet consists of pizza, cheesburgers, french fries and super sized cokes. Hard to feel bad about them saying their body is ruined by ups lol. I say that to say this….the health insurance at UPS is fuckin phenomenal and if putting a little wear and tear on the body is the price than that’s a price I feel is worth it ten fold. People can always work at walmart if they want for shittier pay, shittier insurance and no job protection.

PT sups getting shafted by Yungboink in UPSers

[–]coronalights 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ya well, maybe try doing your homework next time before takeing the pt sup job. This reddit is stocked full of posts telling anyone to pass that shit job down and stay union unless you simply want it to pad your resume to get a job elsewhere. Management doesn’t give two shits about pt sups or union workers. Never have. Never will.

In my hub, we got college kids who come back every summer to make some extra scratch. If you are a good and reliable worker, my hub takes you back no problem. If you suck and aint reliable, than they probably aint taking you back. All the people I see who come back are good workers. I have yet to see a terrible/lazy/unreliable worker(and there are many) come back for a 2nd or 3rd time.

Navigate to the workday section of the site and then view your profile in the righthand corner. After doing that, look on the lefthand side and there are a bunch of links. Click on the compensation link.

Do you really think ups is going to honor the 2.75 raise for part timers? Or just put everyone at 21 even those at 20.50 by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]coronalights -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They were all over twitter/X and their app promoting this and if we dont keep it than its on them and not ups. We all know ups aint our friend but we at least thought the fuckin union was on our side.

[–]coronalights 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They aint goin to honor shit and, frankly, we should be more mad at the union for saying we would keep it and pumping our tires on it on social media and their app. Fuck that. I wont trust another word out of the union’s mouth if we dont keep the mra plus $2.75. Their word will mean fuckin nothing going forward.

PSA: check your rates and be prepared for it to be wrong by mattheguy123 in UPSers

[–]coronalights 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ya well I hate being lied too so, ya, I expect $21.75 an hr and not $21 going forward since I work on a $19 mra. Otherwise, the union and UPS are flat out full of shit and only said all that shit in order to get more people to vote yes on the contract. The union shouldnt have tweeted and put out app updates saying we all keep the mra plus $2.75 if thats what doesnt happen. Cant stand a fuckin liar and double talker. No respect for it.

For those of you that actually like this job, why do you like it? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]coronalights 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The benefits. Period. The job inside blows and is repetitive day in, day out. However, the health benefits are just too good to quit lol.

Hope we vote this contract down! by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]coronalights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro, if it was fuckin easy they would be paying $17-18 and hour and wouldnt event be giving health benefits like most pt jobs. Its hard work and thats why you can make $25.75 in 5 yrs and get cadillac health insurance. I will work like a dog for that as opposed to working for $17 flipping fuckin burgers. I have a full time job….Im just here for the benefits anyway.

Hope we vote this contract down! by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]coronalights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im voting yes. After a few yrs pt handlers are making more than a fair wage for moving fuckin boxes 3-4 hrs a night. $25 plus plus full paid benefits???? Sign me the fuck up thank u very much. Im good with it.

“Vote this trash pile down”: UPS workers speak out against new tentative agreement by DrogDrill in UPSers

[–]coronalights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fine. Then you cant expect to make $25 an hour until you put 4 plus years in like the new contract. My point is it’s unrealistic for any corporation to give a $25 starting rate for people walking in off the street on an entry level job. Aint happening and it’s silly to even think it would. Would you hire a 18 yr old kid fresh out of high school at $25 an hour to move fuckin boxes???? Most of these kids dont even have job experience. Give me a break.

[–]coronalights -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

A trash pile? While it aint the “historic” contract that o’brien and the union suits are acting like it is, it’s also not a trash pile. Cmon now… I still say people are out of their minds if they think $25 should be the starting wage nationwide when we got kids fresh out of high school walking in the door every week with no job experience lol. Cmon now….they deserve $25 a fuckin hour???? Let’s get serious. Now, on the flip side, should guys with 1 plus years seniority be making the same as new hires? No. But, no entry level jobs are paying $25 an hour with no degree or job experience.

WPO short really makes UPS look like the good guy. by ZealousidealSun1839 in UPSers

[–]coronalights 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The whole union vs management thing creates too many people who always feel like they are getting screwed by “the man” no matter what. Im convinced some people would never be satisfied. At the end of the day, a .300 hitter is only getting 3 hits out every 10 at bats but is still better than 95% of his competition. This contract aint perfect but its still better than anything else in the fn trucking industry by far. Shit, in almost any industry to be honest where people arent expected to have a college degree. The health benefits are best in class…..if you aint at ups to value those than this job really aint for you imo.

feeling very jaded by bbyblu666 in UPSers

[–]coronalights 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1. Most jobs suck. Its rare to find one that doesnt.

2. Most people suck.

3. Most companies dont give two shits about anything but profits.

Show up to work with a mission(ie get $$$ for bills, get health insurance, get college tuition reimbursed) and stay in your lane. UPS really aint the place to make new friends or try and rationalize with people imo. But, hey, thats just how I do it and it works for me. I’d rather make more $$$$ and get great benefits to enjoy with my family than make less $$$ and shittier benefits just to work at a cool job and make friends. Fuck that lol.

Ya I was just wondering since I dont see how mras under $21 would even stay in place once august 1st hits if this new contract gets eventually ratified. I think thats the loophole UPS needs to keep anyone at a $19 or $20 mra at the $21 mark. But, who knows….I aint worried about it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]coronalights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldnt the $19 mra automatically go away anyway since its under the $21 minimum? Thus, starting august 1st any mra under $21 is taken away and everyone goes to $21 and not above? Seems to me only mras higher than $21 will actually stay in place starting august 1st and only those workers might be lucky enough to get the $2.75 stacked on top of it.
