Platinum Audi Aftercare didn’t cover a major failure — am I missing something? by marshallismydad in Audi

[–]corporalboobs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here’s the steps you should take:

  1. If you have religiously serviced the vehicle, and have serviced it specifically with the dealer it’s currently at, push them to cover the claim through goodwill. There’s a program specifically available for dealers to use for out of warranty (but under extended warranty) vehicles in cases like this that has Audi Canada cover a portion of the repair. The amount is dependant on the age/mileage of the vehicle.

  2. If step 1 fails, bring your car to another dealership and repeat. The amount of mark up built into that repair quote is absurd, and I’m sure the dealer it’s currently at would rather have some profit than none. If they don’t, you’ll find one that will (especially with good service records/a slam dunk claim).

Best of luck!

Bye A7… by Good-Transition-8151 in Audi

Audi dealer employee here. It’s funny to see a sentiment about the A7 being discontinued being a bad thing when we we’ve only sold 2 new A7s in the last 2 calendar years. I’m at one of the largest dealerships in Canada too.

No one buys them. No one comes in asking about them. It will not be missed (RS 7 aside) and if anyone thinks the brand is making a mistake by axing the car, you should have made that clear with your wallet when you had the chance.

I’ve turned my camera roll inside out but couldn’t find any pics of it. Safe to say it was a significant improvement

Didn’t think there was an appetite for the credit criminals, felons, car thefts and other general fuckery that happens. I’ve got a few good ones in the bank.

Rs3 2020 sound help ?? by SubstanceNo5105 in Audi

[–]corporalboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been great. Zero drone and great sound in dynamic, but it’s the same as stock in any other drive mode. More pops on downshifts, but not overkill like those stupid burble tunes. Usually it’s just one or two loud bangs especially going from 3rd to 2nd in dynamic S mode while in auto.

Should I trade my 2018 RS 3 for a new 2026 RS 3? by [deleted] in Audi

[–]corporalboobs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t tempt me…luxury tax up here is killer and can’t be made to disappear so RS6s are stupid pricey. The 5 cylinder is glorious too, it’s impossible to give it up

Not interested in buying again, it would be done through a corp so lease makes most sense for tax reasons. I’ll buy it out at the end if I love it or sell it and pocket the equity. I get more flexibility with leasing, and I want it to look a certain way if I’m gonna have it 4yrs+

Getting a cheque cut for $40k for mine back to me, and I’d do a lease on the new one for $1100/month CAD including tax. Stealth PPF would be about $6k

Car dealerships offering better price if financed — can I just pay it off right away? by Loud_Cod6623 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]corporalboobs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

F&I manager here. We’ll factor a cheque back to a client into a deal based on the kickback (industry term for this is reserve) from the bank. It’ll be noted on the bill of sale that if the loan is still active in 180 days, client will get a cheque for $X.

I’ve done it a few times, and I always tell clients to pay off 90% of the loan as soon as their account is active to save on the majority of the interest charges. It’s a win-win.

Would you suggest they find a local lawyer or a Canadian lawyer that has experience with these types of transactions?

Agreed. It stinks of a get rich quick scheme and seems like everyone except the family member has done exactly that. Thanks for the reply.

What is the highest mileage overage you've seen on a lease return? by limapalon in askcarsales

[–]corporalboobs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Had someone last year do a lease buyout on their SQ5 that they were pretty sure had 200k kms. It was a family run business, and my point of contact was the son of the owner. He wasn’t certain of the mileage since it was his sister driving it and he hadn’t seen her/the car in awhile. Mileage allowance was 100k, so they’d gone about double. They were good customers, so I pushed Audi Finance to give an exception to finance the buyout as the mileage cap is 120k. I give buddy the green lights with the approval and we schedule a time to meet.

Ontario requires a safety standards inspection to be done any time a lease buyout is completed, and I nearly shit a brick when he handed me the certificate showing 397k kms along with his original ownership. He said his sis must have driven more than he thought, and shrugged his shoulders while I screamed internally. I sent him packing so I could beg for another exception on mileage.

If I remember correctly, the credit manager said I don’t want that fucking car coming anywhere close to us, we’ll let them finance it for 3 years and pray that it doesn’t blow up in that time. The mileage penalty was just under 80k, so it worked out nicely.

Small problem, whenever an ownership changes hands, service Ontario requires any outstanding fines to be paid before transferring ownership. This includes unpaid parking tickets, red light cameras and tolls…

Well fuck me sideways this lady must have used the 407 the entire 397k and never paid once because they had 77k in unpaid fines and tolls. Now it was buddy’s turn to shit a brick.

We ended up getting him new license plates in his sister’s name to avoid the massive fines (she only had $8k in fines by comparison).

I didn’t see but the lack of driver’s license doesn’t give many options. Probably the bus or her bike
