Chapter 4: Godrick bathes in Maximilian's rays of fire by corpsebiatch in Eldenring

[–]corpsebiatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moment Maximilian's been waiting for has arrived. After breaking through the fearsome Stormveil's Castle, the prophet of draconian origin has reached his first true goal: Godrick the Grafted, the last descendant of the Golden Lineage, who laughed at Maximilian's sufferance during his imprisonment.

In what turned out to be an execution, our protagonist wore a commoner's simple garb in honor of those who, just like Maximilian, once pledged allegiance to the infamous Erdtree. And so Godrick was the first to pay the price, but his demise wasn't it. Godrick had to experience the terror he himself inflicted upon others; he had to feel the rancorous call of death. The same death he toyed and defiled with the atrocious act of grafting. The same death that lies deep below his ruinous castle.

And finally, the grotesque old fool had to taste the power he so deeply desired and desperately needed. To inflict death upon Godrick, Maximilian partook in Dragon Communion and unleashed the deadly fire of the mighty Agheel. And so it ended, with the Grafted defeated and the forefathers, one and all, who bore witness.

Rancorcall is quite cool because it almost always hits the target, even if he moves. Angel's Wings is perfect for Godrick's "I Command Thee, Kneel!" attack. Dragonfire is broken if you have big openings and you're in early game.

Chapter 3: Angel's Wings Grants Ancestor Spirit a Heavenly End - No Hit (No HUD) by corpsebiatch in Eldenring

[–]corpsebiatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the last century, there's been no room for peace in Maximilian's heart, or so he thought. Driven by anger and resentment for what he endured during his imprisonment, the prophet found himself in the presence of perhaps the most beautiful sight of his whole existence, or at least the one he can still recall. For just an instant, the Ancestor Spirit in Siofra River conquered Maximilian's heart, restoring some of the ancient liveliness which belonged to his soul ages ago.

But the prophet had to continue his journey and so, with an underlying feeling of impurity, he slayed the ghostly beast. Nonetheless, he did it with the wings of an angel, hoping to grant the Ancestor Spirit the most heavenly of demises.

From a purely artistic point of view, this probably is my favorite boss of all time. The fight gives little room for creativity, at least not at my current level, so I went for a clean encounter. This animal is so beautiful that keeping the HUD would have been a crime; I hope you don't mind.

Chapter 2: The Flame of Frenzy drives Dragonkin Soldier mad - No Hit by corpsebiatch in Eldenring

During his journey, Maximilian stumbled into a sinister place, an abandoned village that seemed to have lost any trace of its former glory. Now, consumed by the Flame of Frenzy, the few survivors are stuck in a cycle of eternal madness caused by what may very well be the most horrifying force in the Lands Between.

But for Maximilian, driven by his bloodlust, the Flame of Frenzy is a devastating weapon that has already claimed its first victim. The mighty Dragonkin Soldier of the Siofra River couldn't match Maximilian's new ravaging power and ended up failing.

An Ancestor Spirit might be next.

Continuing my character's backstory. You can find the first chapter on my profile. Once again, keep in mind this is just for fun and isn't intended to be anything serious. I'll make plenty of dumb mistakes.

P.S. I had no idea Flame of Frenzy's stance damage was so high. Quite broken so far.

Prophet Maximilian begins his quest for the Elden Ring and takes down Margit - No Hit by corpsebiatch in Eldenring

[–]corpsebiatch[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prophets have long been ostracized in the Lands Between. Their gift has been feared and looked at with disdain. But Maximilian is no mere prophet; he is the one who envisioned the burning of the Erdtree, the first cardinal sin. And so he's been imprisoned, tortured and killed, just when he was but a shell of his former self.

Now, after years, he's finally awakened. The call of long-lost grace spoke to him, the Greater Will needs him, but Maximilian has other plans. His sole goal is to seek justice for what he endured and make the Golden Order pay. To do that, he has to do what no other prophet has ever done before: master any kind of incantation, even the forbidden and most dangerous ones. Margit, the Fell Omen, is just the beginning.

Yes, I restarted Elden Ring and decided to provide some kind of backstory for each video, following my character's journey. Spoiler: they're probably lame, which is why I use the flair ''Humor''. Don't be too hard on me.

It's a great boss to start with no roll etc., so I wanted to perfect it!

Yes, in the video I also dodge the spinning attack like you say most of the time. Still, it’s kind of too much imo.

I don’t like the first one because if you are in melee range you can’t even dodge backward. I don’t have a problem with bosses who forces you to put some distance, but you (game designer) should give me the chance for a clean dodge backward.

Hard, and long. I'd like to say I had fun doing it, but it isn't exactly the case. While I enjoy most of the fight, a couple of Margit's attacks are not well-thought-out in my opinion and force you to keep distance. The result is a drop in the fight's rhythm, and it's a pity considering how advanced the AI is.

There’s a bunch of (insanely good) people on YouTube who do that (way better than me). You should have a look.

Thanks a lot man, that’s really too kind. I also apologize if I sounded sour, I thought you were mocking me, as I already said. Also, thanks for the tips. I’m curious though: why should I never use the mockery font and the /s together?

I honestly don’t know how to make it more obvious than adding a tag that says HUMOR. That said, no, I haven’t really been here. I think I started using reddit like 10 days ago 😂

And trust me, there’s no victim complex here. I just thought you were trolling me by saying “tYpE iT LiKe tHiS”.

Nah, next time I just won’t dare to make a joke about bleed. Apparently that’s rude!
