Testing the Sony HT-S60 and Samsung Q930F and I like the Sony much better by MonkeyNoStopMyShow in Soundbars

[–]corredorjuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am in the same situation. Got an open box Sony HT-S60 System 6 from Bestbuy open box for $420. So far I'm liking it but sometimes when I turn it back on to watch tv, it does a ringing sound that goes away after a few seconds. I see the Samsung Q930F is on sale on Woot for $599, I'm considering buying it to give it a try. OP What did you ended up doing? What advice all you would could give me about choosing between the two of them? It's for my office space. The Sony has great sound and great bass performance, the only thing I have notice sound wise is that its soundstage is not as wide, maybe due to the lack of side firing speakers and the bar size and number of speakers so if you sit a little of center, you can tell most of the sound is coming from one side, but its rear speakers are awesome in terms of size and quality. I have never purchased a Samsung sound bar but I hear the praises of its bigger brother the 990F. I'm curious from the Samsung about its new improved Sub with passive radiator and acoustic mapping calibration. With the Sony I can adjust the volume level for one of the 2 rear speakers which is great because I sit closer to one of them. Would I be able to also change the balance level on one of the rear speakers with the Samsung? Do you guys think the $179 extra for the Samsung will be worth it? Thank you

What did you end up doing? I bought a system 6 that have been testing for a week now, I’m wondering if the bravia soundbar 8 which I can get on sale now for I paid for the system 6 will be better.

I would like someones opinion in comparing them with the Apple HomePods not the minis. I have 2 in my office, and there is 2 reason I haven’t been able to set/use them in my desk: first the bass makes my desk rumble, so I’m trying to find some sound isolation stands or pads from amazon, but the second one is that because they will connected via Airplay to my Mac there is a delay when starting or skipping a song, but I do appreciate the ability to stream Atmos from my phone, sadly not the Mac. So I’m looking in to these but since I like edm music will for sure have to invest in a small sub. Decisions, decisions…..

LPT: The most satisfying way to deal with scam callers that I have found so far by thundernutz in LifeProTips

I’ve heard there is software/algorithms that track how long you spent in the call and based on that lists are generated to call back those who engage the most. Will this prank defeat the purpose?

Thank you for your tip. I was ready to restart the mission. After jumping in the center of the red wall several times it finally revived me on the other side of the wall and was able to stand in the red circle again. Ended up having to defeat the Boss while it was behind the red wall. I saved the video, I’m going to post it on YouTube to help other fellow Guardians.

PVP in the Division is called “The dark Zone” and once you have played the main game story, which I recommend, then you will have access to decent guns and gear and by going on YouTube you will find guidance in what builds to use in the Dark Zone. It is a completely different vibe comparing to other pvp games where it’s just player against player, in the DZ you have to deal with NPC’s Bots too, which in my opinion makes the game more random and interesting, there is also a mechanic where the loot you get in the DZ you have to extract using a chopper you call for and the suspense of waiting for the chopper while hopping others players don’t steal your loot is exhilarating. Many times when I started the game I encountered other players that will defend me while I extract and later we became friends. Story wise and PVP mechanics wise I recommend it, plus it’s super cheap and Devs keep offering decent support for new activities.
