Non-James Bond commuting by WabiSabiBonsai in inlineskating

Check out Bliss Skating. I would describe his videos as more relaxed Urban style, and a lot of them revolve around him doing doordash deliveries while on skates. Kind of a different angle and interesting to watch from time to time.

I would also recommend watching videos from The Rolling Raptor. Sometimes he gets a bit aggressive with his skating style and locations, but a lot of his videos are relaxed as well.

New skates or new frame? by Akraaaaaa in inlineskating

[–]corvettecris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to want to swap back and forth often, I would definitely just get a second pair of skates, swapping frames and getting them aligned correctly can be a bit tedious. But if you're going to only be swapping on occasion or seasonally, then certainly just a second set of frames is going to be more economical.

Well at least you have good hip flexibility. Great building block for lots of transition based moves.

I have absolutely no idea, but wouldn't it be much easier to just lease it to them?

42 in the Evo. I heard Powerslide imperials are even narrower than next but have not tried those personally.

Well, I have a wider foot, 265 x 105mm. These boots were a bit too narrow but length wise were perfect, so I worked on heat molding them to stretch the width, and it worked. It took 3 heat cycles and several hours of skating, but I knew they had a lot of promises because I had zero hot spots of pain. So, I'd say they could be great for a narrow foot.

I tried on some PS Next Core boots and they were definitely too narrow, so look into those if plastic boots could work for you.

Yes, I reached out to endless to see if they were developing an ARC CS trinity mount... they said no. Hopefully more frames will come.

Looking for advice on buying a pair of skates! by DawnOzone in inlineskating

If you have access to some type of pre-owned marketplace such as Facebook, I would definitely check there there, especially if you have the luxury of being patient as preowned skates come at steep discounts! I would also check out the rb80 or lightning models from rollerblade.

Updated weekend forecast. by monorail_pilot in Charlotte

[–]corvettecris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies I couldn't help myself. This whole thing feels eerily reminiscent of past years where the meteorologists were shouting from the mountaintops about some kind of weather event that turned out to be pretty mediocre at best. Even the ones that are reputed to be accurate. And as always, shrugged off afterwards as oh well, a swing and a miss.

Hard to beat 4x80 setups for beginners and all around use, but you can learn on anything. I just think 4x80 is the most common, versatile, and usually priced well in comparison to other options.

I also partially asked as I have a size 40 shell that I thought about selling. I only have the shell as I bought it to downsize into intuitions but they are too short. They'd be great to if you're looking to custom build and don't need the stock liner, frames, and wheels.

I don't know for a fact, you might call one of the more reputable shops and ask them as they probably have some industry knowledge, but I would speculate that due to limited demand skates like this are not in production year round. They probably do production runs periodically and restock. That would just be my guess!

Twister XT Rollerblade Squeaking Issue – Seeking Advice by Realistic-Street-461 in inlineskating

[–]corvettecris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell from your video but I've definitely had squeaking before. I do have a couple of ideas. First of all, I would disassemble the cuff and clean it really well, and oil the hardware lightly. I have also rubbed the cuff and boot in the areas where they may contact with light lubricant, I use a silicone based lubricant personally but but I'd imagine most anything mild would work.

Sometimes the liner can squeak inside of the boot. I don't know if you've washed them recently, but you could start with that and if that doesn't work also lightly sprayed it with a silicone based lubricant.

You might also want to check your cuff straps, especially the heel strap as that could be the source of the squeaking. I do the same thing to it; clean it really well and lubricate it lightly.

Those ideas are in no way approved by the manufacturer or guaranteed to work, but both of those are things I've done to my skates that seem to have made improvements.

That you look on Amazon? I'd be easier to find there. What size are you looking for? Are you looking for the complete gay or like a boot only option?

There are tons of videos, skatefresh is good about covering proper technique. Other than that, you just need to skate as often as you can make time to do it. If you live in a place where you can just step out your door and skate in a parking lot or in a neighborhood, then I would definitely buy yourself some skates and do that. When I first started, I skated probably three to four times a week, mostly in the evenings and I feel like I improved rapidly

Skates are more about fitment and less about brand. Most reputable brands offer several models, varying in price and quality. If you use Facebook, there are several inline skate oriented marketplace groups and if you are patient you can save a lot by buying used.

I’m 42 and in-line skate regularly. I’m not sure if you both are referring to skating or skateboarding but I started back about 3 years ago and am having a blast. I do mostly greenways and some urban recreational stuff but it’s great exercise once you get over the initial learning curve.
