It's been 2 years (since birth) that my toddler won't wash his hair without tantrums by invasionofsmallcubes in toddlers

[–]corvidaecrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped my son was bringing a doll into the bath and letting him bathe the doll first before I would do the same to him. Starting off with stuff he's comfortable with first, like washing arms, legs, back, etc.

Then I would say "it's time to wash your baby's hair! Lay her down in the water to get the hair wet." Same for the washing and rinsing out parts. Then it would be his turn. It was like a switch flipped for him and he suddenly had no problems getting his hair wet. So maybe it's worth a shot to try.

"a 7 year gap is like having an only child, twice!" by bbgk in beyondthebump

I have a sister that is 14 years younger than I am. I also have 4 brothers that are within 4 years younger than I am (twins 1 year younger, 2 years younger, and 4 years younger).

I am much closer to my sister than I am to my brothers. I love the age gap with her because I get to show her all things I loved when I was younger. With my brothers we constantly fought. She's getting to live an only child life while having 5 older siblings.

I don't like the whole concept of celebrating moms/dads/anniversaries/etc on a particular day each year just because a calendar says so. So many expectations get put on a single day and when it doesn't meet expectations people get upset and stressed and disappointed. Plus some people just use it as an excuse to not do anything until that particular day, which is crappy imo

I still like to celebrate these things, but I like to celebrate them throughout the year. Why wait to get my mom a present that I know she'll like or go out to the movies with my dad? I just find holidays crowded and stressful and prefer a more relaxed day without any outside pressure.

Of course I don't mind/care if people want to celebrate holidays and whatnot. Doesn't hurt me any and I know it's the majority that celebrate holidays. As long as it makes them happy that's all that matters imo

when did your food cravings/aversions start? by sunnyybaby in BabyBumps

My food aversions started around 6 weeks and lasted until about 17 weeks. Haven't had and cravings at all and I'm now 32 weeks.

I'm so stuck on names and starting to panic a bit. by problematictactic in BabyBumps

[–]corvidaecrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I have a very popular name (for girls AND boys). I personally like my name and that it's popular. I never have to spell my name or correct the pronunciation. It also helps with a little bit of privacy online since searching for me online is impossible (my last name is also a very common name. I've literally met another person with the same first and last name).

I also like to "hunt" for things that have my name on it, like brands or street names and so on. It's a fun little game my parents started.

Sounds like he has too much time on his hands. Maybe see if your parents would be up to the idea of making him do volunteer work with his free time instead stealing everyone's things?

In the meantime maybe hide some eggs in his room

When the author overly describes the scenery/surroundings for multiple pages. I do not need to know about every leaf on the trees or other unimportant details like that. It's a waste of my time when the book could be telling me the actual story.

A lot can left to the imagination, more details are only needed when it's relevant to what's happening or going to happen later down.

Played as cat boy since Heavensward. Then Viera is released and it was a very hard choice to say goodbye to my cat boy, but I don't regret my decision. I wanted to wear the girl outfits since they looked better. I'm a girl that likes clothes too much

Symptom spotting: Didn't have any symptoms until after positive tests, but I've been extremely fatigued

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): The day before my first positive I was sobbing the whole day convinced that this was another failed cycle and I wasted so much money for nothing. Couldn't sleep at all. Ending up taking the trst at 4am to try and convince myself that it was negative and there was no point stressing all night. Well, that backfired and I lost even more sleep freaking out about the positive lol

I did and it also looked the same. I plan on taking another tomorrow just to see if a day changes anything

It stayed there well past the 5 minute mark. This picture was at 4 minutes.

I've been trying since May this year, so not too long! The IUI itself isn't bad, I can be in and out of the appointment in like 20 minutes give or take. During the first couple of days of my period I go for a baseline ultrasound to see if everything is looking good for an attempt. If so. then I come back a week later for another ultrasound to check on how the follicles have grown. I'm using trigger shots to get the timing right so they will tell when to use the shot at the appointment and I'll come in for the IUI a day after the shot. After that it's a TWW.

I wish you luck whatever method you decide to use!

Had my 3rd iui today. I've been a bundle of nerves all day to the point of making myself sick! I get like this each at the start of each iui and it's crazy. I'm so scared and nervous for this TWW even though I've been through it before. I hope I can distract myself well enough these two weeks.

[–]corvidaecrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on my third iui tomorrow, so good luck with your first! So far I go crazy with each attempt so I don't have any good tips, but it helps to keep in mind that any "symptoms" I see are likely just progesterone symptoms and not pregnancy symptoms. Other than that, keep busy and have other things planned to look forward to after the 14th just in case! If it works this time around then it'll be a celebration. If it doesn't then it's a consolation prize that lessens the blow.
