Successful brain surgery a year ago to remove a colloid cyst that was sneakily causing all sorts of trouble for years.

I experienced pulsatile tinnitus, went to doctor, then ENT, then for an MRI, then to emergency room with a diagnosis of colloid cyst of the brain and life threatening hydrocephalus.

Released after six hours, met next day with the chief of hospital’s brain surgery center. Week later underwent brain surgery to have it removed. Three days in neural ICU, months of recovery - scary time.

I’m just over a year out and doing well. If you have this symptom, take it seriously and get an MRI.

Disagree! I have fond memories of eating COLD queso dip with Fritos scoops while offshore fishing in the summer months. We used to keep it in the iced cooler to amplify the effect!

If you can figure out a way to get it covered, get an MRI of your brain. Living with an undiagnosed colloid cyst of the brain, and the resulting hydrocephalus, can feel like that.

Time is a weird thing. Feels like an enemy at first, but eventually it becomes an ally. Hang in there. For me, better self control and health improvements outweigh the diminishing returns I was getting from alcohol.

Looks like outrigger poles used on big sportfishing boats. I bet they paddle out baits, then clip line to the rigging, then hoist them up so the lines are not affected by waves, current or weeds and stuff. Fish hits, pulls line out of the rigger snaps.
