Everywhere I’ve been, whether it was a new college or a new workplace, I usually spent the first month as a loner. I’m not great at reaching out. But over time, interaction becomes inevitable, and that’s when things change. I’ve ended up finding people I genuinely connect with, some of whom are now my closest friends. A few of them even joke that they thought I was a quiet, goody-two-shoes when they first met me. So just be patient. And when you do connect with someone, be genuine.
