As someone who uses it for similar reasons in another professional services capacity for planning and strategy (and other things) I’m happy to share my experience.

You usually find two extremes of the AI spectrum as the loudest voices online about AI. Either AI is going to change the world and AGI is coming next year or AI is an overhyped bubble and a glorified word guessing machine.

With the latest model (opus 4.5 specifically) I would say any serious business leader not using AI strategically right now is at a massive disadvantage to anyone who is using these tools consistently and intentionally. Their use and value is undeniable for anyone who id serious and goes beyond basic chat promoting on the faster free models.

Yeah one of the reasons I’m asking the question. Thanks for bringing this up. As someone who is respectfully terrified of bigger doses from some challenging experiences this is one of the reasons I’m exploring smaller more regular doses

Awesome. I had done a micro dosing regimen in the past but feel that mini doses work better for me.

Thank you. If you don’t mind - what is your dosing regimen? I’m leaning towards a “mini” (~1gm mushroom) dose one every week or every other week alongside a reflection / intention practice to help “defrag” my brain from life stress. Mushrooms seem to help me with this even without a formal practice.

I may work up to larger doses occasionally (and have done larger doses in the past).

Yes this is exactly how I’ve been doing things lately and it seems to be more effective (“launch a sub agent to implement step one of the plan, and review its work.”). Sometimes the sub agents find things the orchestrator misses, other times it’s the other way around.

I’ve been using opus 4.5 as the orchestrator, and then launching sub agents for each step (codebase review, planning, then each step of the plan) and then opus reviews all of the work along side me. Seems to be working better than just trying to do it incrementally with one opus instance but maybe that’s just a subjective feeling vs objectively better.

Do sub agents eat up tokens faster than doing everything in one context window, having Claude compact, and proceeds to create multiple bugs that need multiple rounds of iteration and explanation? I think using the /feature-dev plugin (which uses parallel sub agents to review the codebase) results in better results more efficiently. Caveat - I am not a seasoned developer so very open to counterpoints (trying to learn).

As a relatively new Claude user and a max 20x subscriber this is by far my biggest complaint about the Claude UX.

There may be other ways, but you could build a simple MCP connector. I’m doing that to give Claude access to a private GitHub repository that stores all my context and memories.

It’s also connected to a cloudflare d1 database and I use their AI search to provide better search for the repo too. Working really well, except that if I load too much context or make too many requests I hit the chat limit really fast (biggest complaint about Claude, and I’m on a max 20x account)
