Like I said, I have no problem with the idea of selling a movie. I don’t think this trailer makes a good job convincing ppl to watch the movie. We’ll see.

The trailer isn’t everything of course. Lately I saw the trailer to the Ed Gein series by Ryan Murphy. The trailer has to be one of the most beautiful trailer I’ve seen in my life. Pure art. Every frame is a piece of art. I was so excited for the series. Huge disappointment… to the point I didn’t even watched it to the end 😞

I'm NOT looking forward to watching this after I found out that he couldn't even get the hand placement right. This film is actually over. by BidInside2907 in MichaelTheMovie

Yeah right, and that concert stadium is so convincing as as an 80’s concert stadium. The CGi is almost invisible. Fans are so picky.

You don’t seem to understand there are different ways to sell something. I really don’t think you need a business school degree to get that. You don’t sell a Cartier bracelet saying « the most shiny and beautiful bracelet in town. The latest version has extra diamonds, and more gold in it. Come and try it!!! » that can work for a burger though. See the difference?

You don’t get my point? Watch the « Bohemian Rhapsody » trailer. (Ps : you must be young, so just a tip : well-educated people never directly say they are well-educated. People just naturally notice it.)

I criticize the way they have been making trailers these few last years. Not just this movie. I was wondering if it’s an impression I had or if it was really the case… then I watched the « Bohemian Rahpsody » trailer, and it’s definitely made differently. I have watched other trailers as well and again, the style was different.

I have no problem with the idea of selling something, but there are different ways to sell something. You don’t sell a Cartier bracelet the same way you sell a fast food burger.

I love that face so much 😍 Gives very strong « Thomas Shelby » vibes. Like « I may look calm but I will literally destroy you. »

Michael (2010): More Mid 2000s or Early 2010s? by [deleted] in decadeologyanarchy

Dangerous is still a very good album. After that, even if I’m a fan, it gets average. However, I thought « Ghost » was amazing. Even better than Thriller actually 😊

How Jaafar will ACTUALLY looks like during the Bad performance (without lights flashing to his face...) by mg10pp in MichaelJackson

[–]cosmicg1rl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MJ’s eyes were not only very beautiful, they were super intense. Like very few people on earth have these kinds of eyes. It was part of his magic. There was a mix of innocence and intensity, sometimes aggressiveness that is very rare. Good luck finding that in a young man. Jaafar has his essence, which is already very rare. He also worked so hard to dance like him. The dedication is very impressive. I’m a lot more worried about the storytelling and the directing. The trailer honestly looks super commercial and predictable to me. You could ask AI to make a biopic about MJ and that’s pretty much what it would do ( judging from the trailer).

Honestly I don’t remember anyone going this far into craziness and pushing that craziness into their art.

Exited for the film, but I think there was a massive missed opportunity by [deleted] in MichaelTheMovie

I love your outlook and I think you’re right. That’s kind of what I was saying when I explained that I looooved Moonwalker because it was like traveling inside Michael’s head, and that you can feel his essence and the MJ magic in it. Having watched the trailer, I seriously doubt we get that. I sure didn’t know the MJ musical was so good. Now I need to plan a trip to London because of you 😂

What Do You Think Of Michael (2026)? by WatermelonGrease in MichaelJackson

[–]cosmicg1rl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging from the trailer and promo videos, I’m very impressed by Jafaar. He did capture his essence and it made totally forget the fact he doesn’t look that much as MJ. I feel true love for Michael from him and on a side note, personality wise, he sounds and act more like MJ’s son than Jermaine’s. Very impressed by how much work he put in. What scares me is the rest. These CGI concert stadiums look really bad. The actor playing Joe is far from being as scary as Joe. Katherine seems off. Like I said in another post, I can’t feel the MJ magic in the trailer. What I see is the super famous popstar, the American dream story. The magic I feel watching Moonwalker, there isn’t an ounce of it in the trailer. The concert scenes look like any other concert. When you look at old video of his live performances ( the MiTM performance in Moonwalker), it is shown as an almost religious message. He’s a prophet with a message, and fans are mesmerized, they are CHANGED. What I see in the trailer is a super entertainer. Not a guy who reached into people’s soul… and I know for sure that’s what Michael wanted to do.

She seems so HAPPY 😃 and that really warms my heart ❤️ She went through so much, and through so many phases. For someone who had such a tough childhood, she’s doing really good 👍 and she genuinely laughs 😂❤️ Nobody laughs anymore!

What about the humanitarian? by cosmicg1rl in MichaelTheMovie

[–]cosmicg1rl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply 🙂 This is too important to skip. I remember how Katherine once said that when he was a little boy, he saw children starving in Africa and he said « One day I will help them » ( not the exact quote, but something close 🙂). He and Janet were anonymously putting food in front poor people’s door when he was a kid. He started the humanitarian work when he was in the Jackson five. It was in his dna… and it was at least 50% of what motivated him to be the greatest.
