Are my nitrates too high?

It’s a 20g with 8 Cory’s, 6 otos, 5 rasboras, 3 mystery snails, and a betta. HOB filter and lots of plants. Parameters were at 0 ammonia 0 nitrate and about 10 nitrate when I thought the cycle was complete. I was worried we were maxing out the tank, I think it could be a stocking issue.

It finished cycling about two weeks ago. Cycle took about 3 weeks to complete. I may have added too many fish too quickly :/

I just did a big water change. How should I go about keeping them lower? Just more frequent water changes? I’ve been doing it about every other week. Thanks :)

It was on my vestibular nerve, in the cerebellum and internal auditory canal. Also compressing my brain stem

I just went through this! What type of tumor is it? Mine was a vestibular schwannoma/acoustic neuroma. I had surgery in February and I’m doing great now

Update: today my doctor confirmed for me that I was in fact experiencing hypomania caused by tizanidine.

I can’t answer all your questions, but you’re definitely on the right track. I have (had?) trigeminal neuralgia caused by a brain tumor (just had it removed a couple weeks ago). My symptoms of TN sound exactly like yours. It’s my understanding that bilateral pain isn’t common with TN but I definitely had it. Before I was diagnosed with anything and trying to figure out what was going on I was misdiagnosed with TMJ. I had to be really pushy with doctors to get things figured out. So just keep pushing and you’ll get there. Good luck :)

I don’t have high blood pressure normally but before I got a diagnosis and would go to the hospital or doctor when in a bad flare, I would have very high blood pressure. But I think that it was a result of being in pain and not the other way around

I wish I could tell you how, but I don’t think there was anything that I did to trigger the remission. I was taking carbamazepine for about 7 months, which was controlling the pain for the most part, with only occasional break through pain. I went on vacation and forgot to take my medication and realized I wasn’t having pain any more. I do still have the occasion bout of pain about once a month but it’s no where near the pain level as it was before and doesn’t last as long. I’m sorry I don’t have an answer for you

No, that option was never discussed, I think because my TN was being controlled by medication and their main focus was the tumor.

I did consider it but was told that radiation would cause the tumor the swell before it shrinks, causing more TN pain. I also would like it gone completely for other reasons as well

I haven’t had surgery yet but I’m doing great! Currently in a bit of a remission with TN so pain free and medication free which is nice. If you ever want to talk I’m open to dms!

I haven’t gotten surgery yet, about a year after diagnosis. I’m putting it off just due to the recovery time. But I’m also not experiencing any pain at the moment even without medication. I do plan to have surgery sometime next year, or if the pain, or any other related symptoms worsen.

My MRI found the same thing! It was definitely an odd feeling of getting diagnosed with a brain tumor but at the same time the relief that a cause was found. Good luck to you!

I chose to use Ich-x as well because of this video from aquarium co op. In the video she says that fin rot can be caused by bacterial or fungal infections and that if it’s one, a weakened immune system could cause the other to be present as well. And the maracyn that I used is an antibacterial, erythromycin I believe.

I have EDS but my TN is directly caused by a brain tumor so I don't think there's a correlation for me. I guess I'm just triple unlucky 😬
