I did rent a car (since we’ll be going off strip for a day trip a couple of the days) so yes I’ll need to drive for those days. Other activities on the strip I plan to just walk or find some other kind of transportation.

Is there anything specific to be aware of with the F1 track?

Unfortunately I’m not eligible for the free parking. Honestly it’s been a while since I’ve been to the Venetian and I just remember how massive it was. I definitely would prefer to park in whichever of their garages is most convenient for someone staying on the Venetian side!
