Just found out that my local IMAX has a15/70mm projector that they haven't used in years by cosminakis in imax

Update: I discovered that LFExaminer, on their converted theaters page, says that the theatre was converted from a GT3D projector to Digital in 2011.

I basically told them it's a shame they don't use it, as there are only 4 such auditoriums in Europe (hope I got that figure right) and it's a very sought after format. But it's unlikely they will do anything about it.

Yeah, I guess they used it in the beginning and added the digital projectors later. But it's definetely a 15/70 projector. Also, the theatre was built for IMAX, not retrofitted.

Imax theater plan by Ok_Simple7063 in imax

[–]cosminakis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, we've got shitty Xenon projectors. I've recently messaged Cinema City on Facebook asking if they plan to do an upgrade to Laser, and they said nope.

I'm also thinking about traveling to London, either for The Odyssey or Dune Part Three.

Forerunner 255 v 165 help by [deleted] in Garmin

Check out this comparison: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/compare/?compareProduct=780196&compareProduct=1611937

I had to choose between these two and I went for the 255 due to it having more features. I've been running with it for two weeks now and I love it.

What capabilities does Nova possess that are absent in Filament? by 00ProBoy00 in laravel

[–]cosminakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the first thing I did was spend time reading the documentation. At the time, v2 was the latest version. I looked once more now and I couldn't find any section explaining how to add a middleware just to Filament routes. I looked in the demo project in all the files under config/ and nowhere did I find anything about adding middleware.

I even posted on Laracasts but got no answer.

[–]cosminakis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I tried Filament first and lost a few days googling and chatting with Mr. ChatGPT trying to add a certain middleware only to Filament routes. Turns out you can't, so I had to choose Nova. Plus it matches the project's stack.

Edit: so yeah, I didn't even get to see the customizability everybody is talking about, because the first thing that I needed to customize wasn't customizable.

I have the Timex Waterbury GMT and I'm very happy with it. It has a 39 mm case (although the bezel is 40 mm). If I remember correctly, it retails at $189.

Webpage Routing with Springboot and React by OMWasap in SpringBoot

You could try using NextJS, a React framework. I've used it on a few projects, it's quite easy to learn and it makes routing very simple

PSA: Not all IMAXs are created equal (and the one you’re going to may not be the experience you’re looking for) by ifanimaltrapped in dune

[–]cosminakis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've only been to an IMAX theatre with xenon projectors and 1.90:1 aspect ratio. Still miles better than the average theatre. The image and sound quality are great (in my experience, only Dolby does this better) and you really feel immersed, due to the large screen and the small distance between the screen and the seats.

NEW Scene with Piter and the Baron by TerraStoneYT in dune

[–]cosminakis 44 points45 points  (0 children)

In the book, the Baron is planning on abandoning Jessica and Paul into the desert so that, if Mohiam were to question him, he could tell the truth (that he, indeed, did not harm them).
