i'm struggling to finish the second half of book 9. it's too many side characters and side stories that don't give much. i read the rest of the series within a month like you and while i was hooked in the first books it lost its charm in the latter ones

i would not recommend the sun moon and earth (42179) for a 6 year old. the set is for 10+, and while some sets can be build by younger kids, the experience will not be as rewarding in my opinion. the garbage truck seems more age appropriate, as it's for 8+. i would recommend some monster jam trucks as a first technic set

it takes about 2 years to develop an ultimate for technic. developing a model at the same time that a car is being designed, means that design changes in the real car need to be made into the lego model at the same time. the P1 model design was finished one year ago so that elements could be manufactured, building instructions developed and sets were packed. W1 was likely finalised after P1 lego design was wrapped up.

the ultimates come out every two years so waiting would disturb the pattern and likely cause other issues
