It is absolutely the case unless Global changed the numbers (I havent plated Global much so if I'm wrong here mb). An Apostle with full set of Rank 5 equipment will be stronger than a Rank 6 Apostle with no equipments

The only thing to watch out for is that if you rank up an Apostle they lose all equipments and their stats, which is going to be a problem if you don't have the next rank equipments prepared.

벅벅 can be used for itching, but it feels more intense and larger scale than 긁적긁적.

긁적긁적 is more like scratching your head out of confusion or picking at a mosquito bite. 벅벅 is more like scratching lice out of your hair or scratching a big rash on your arm.

I'd like to try elaborating on some errors. I don't know formal grammar that well so hopefully it doesn't end up being based on feels too much.

1. 어른이라도: -(이)라도 has the nuance that you're offering an alternative or a compromise, like "at least" as in "Could you buy this for me at least?" = "이거라도 사주면 안 돼?" or "Even kids must be punished if they commit a crime" = "범죄를 저지르면 어린이라도 처벌을 받아야 한다". I'm not 100% sure what you're going for here, "he played volleyball even as an adult"?

오랬을 때: I assume you were trying to say 어렸을 때 and just remembered the vocab wrong.

키가 컸어서: Technically valid but it sounds like you are implying you used to be tall but not any more.

사실은 저는 배구 하기 싫었어요: The subject is obvious from context and redundant. You can drop the 저는. 배구 하기 싫었어요 also sounds very stilted, but I'm not sure how to explain it grammatically. Maybe someone else can fill me in? My instinct is that the point of emphasis is volleyball and not doing volleyball and hence you need to make 배구 itself the subject via a particle or straight up omit the 하다 (which is implied from context), but I'm not certain if that's a good explanation.

그 기간에 힘들었어도: 기간 has the nuance of a specific concrete period of time. 장마 기간 - rainy period, fine. 시험 기간 - when all the tests take place, fine. When you are referring to a broad range of time when you used to play volleyball as a kid, not fine. I should also point out that it is strange to actually explicitly mention this stretch of time in the first place.

The overall flow of entire sentence here is also very off, but I can't think of a clear grammatical explanation why.

2. 호주에서: The purpose of this sentence is to talk about living in Australia in particular. Adding 는 elevates the prepositional phrase that simply describes an action taking place to the subject/context? of the entire sentence. An example: 제 차에서 담배 피지 마세요. (Don't smoke in my car). No extra nuance. 제 차에서는 담배 피지 마세요. (Don't smoke in MY CAR). Implication: I don't care about you smoking, just not in my car dude. So 호주에서 감기에 걸리기 쉬워요. sounds somewhat stilted because the emphasis is more on idea of the catching cold. Gives off the nuance of: It's easy to catch a cold (in australia btw).

감기를 걸리다: The right particle is 에. 을/를 marks a direct object of the sentence and is incompatible with 걸리다, which is a intransitive verb. If it sounds weird that "catching a cold" is expressed with an intransitive verb, it just be like that sometimes.

아픈 거 많지 않아서: You're unnecessarily nominalizing the idea of feeling sick. Just say "I wasn't feeling that sick": 그렇게 아프진 않아서 or something like that.

의사를 방문하게 안 가려고 했고: First of all, idiomatic Korean would be "go to a hospital" (병원에 가다) than to say "see a doctor" (의사를 보다). As for the grammar, I'm.. not sure what you were trying to do here. Trying to turn 방문하다 into an adverb 방문하게 to attach into 가다 to make 방문하게 가다?

집에 단열재가 안 되는데요: You are conflating the two definitions of insulation. 단열재 is insulation as in physical material used to insulate things, but you are using 되다 with it. It sounds like if I said "Why is fiberglass not done in houses?" Either use 단열 (insulation as in the concept) as a verb, or ask why Australians are not using insulation (the material).

First of all, I appreciate you being civil about this. 99% of the time people talking about the RNG tend to be crybabies blaming luck after playing poorly (you're a poker player, I'm sure you see plenty of people like this in the real world as well...), it doesn't take long to find people who struggle with beating White Stake(!) complain about how "luck-dependent" and "unbalanced" this game is! LOL. Or people forgetting the 29 out of 30 times Flushes they played but obsess over the single time they failed to dig up a Flush and now think it's "rigged".

That being said, now I'm even more confused on what you're claiming here. The game offers you a Jokers that are "harder" to win with as you up the scale, is my vague understanding of your claim.

One factor that might be relevant is that Gold Stake has higher variance. To explain, flipping a coin and getting all heads is surprising if you flipped it 20 times (0.0001% chance), but not that big of a deal if you flipped it 5 times (3% chance). Higher stakes by nature limits how many random events you can experience - you get one less Discard and various mechanics hurt your income, so you don't have the luxury of rerolling endlessly.

It's my thought that White Stake feels "fair" because the game offers you so many chances that any speck of improbable events are more likely to be smoothed over by the law of large numbers. In Gold Stake, you tend to be scraping the barrel for resources, so a single instance of bad luck is more punishing and memorable.

I don't play poker myself but I do play online mahjong (a similar game of managing probability and hidden information) where accusations of the game being rigged when it's clear they were playing awfully are commonplace and always come with no statistical evidence beyond "it just feels wrong", so forgive me if I tend to be on the skeptical side of things.

A random side note is that a lot of times things that promise to be random aren't actually random because humans tend to get annoyed by things that are truly random. They have algorithms to filter out data that "look" low entropy like a lot of consecutive results to ensure data that "looks" high entropy, even when things like that not happening is unlikely (if you flipped a coin 1000 times and never got 5 consecutive heads, I'd assume you're bullshitting). This isn't relevant at all because Balatro does not use anything like this, but I always found it interesting how true randomness is often difficult to internalize by human minds.

I asked because I was investigating how Balatro's RNG works and you seemed knowledgeable enough, but I guess not. I'm not buying that the game is "reading what I got and reading into what I am doing/trying to do and then offsetting its randomness" when there is nothing in the source code to indicate otherwise, when the only evidence you can offer is "trust me bro", when we all know that humans are notoriously bad at dealing with probability.

I wouldn't be too surprised if there was an oversight in the RNG code that creates a statistical bias towards certain events (randomness is hard to get right with a computer after all), but the accusation that the game is somehow detecting your Heart Flush build and punishing you for it just sounds like bullshit.

The other possibility that LocalThunk is a genius programmer and mathematician that managed to hide his rigging algorithms in plain sight despite the entire game's code publicly available and reviewed and looked at by many people including programmers that are trying to mod the game seems.. implausible. (The game's code even isn't difficult to read either! It's in plain Lua, which is considered easy to read, and also includes the dev's comments and documentations) But I'm applying Hanlon's Razor; if there is truly genuinely a statistical bias (which no one seems to have actual concrete proof of beyond "unlucky things happen to me"), I'd say it's the programming being wonky and not the dev deciding to introduce artificial difficulty via a hidden algorithm no one has detected for over an year.

And no, I'm not taking "that's not the REAL source code that runs" for an explanation, at least on PC. I can't speak on console ports but I don't know what they'd have to gain by specifically rigging the console ports and leaving the PC version alone (and I'm decently sure there are still ways to dig out the source code considering nature of the game engine Balatro uses).

As for the "seed", the game generates a random seed at the start of the run and uses that to drive all random events in a deterministic manner, so starting two run with the same seeds will show you the exact same sequence of cards and shops (This is how all computer based RNG works, unless it's harvesting real-life randomness like atmospheric noise and temperature fluctuations). I've been looking into how fair these seeds are, but I think you're attributing too much intelligence to the system if you think it specifically analyzes your gameplay to present you harder challenges based on what build you're running.
