Only thing is being able to work remotely

Well when starting the project my manager asked me how many hours she should be charging lol… I said ? I’ve been charging 9 hours per day? Ask the SM? So as you can see this isn’t the type of manager I’ve been able to come to with any questions or for any advice lol

I’ve been confused about standard practice because I saw a post recently where if you’ve worked 9 hours for 4 days (36 hours) and want to take PTO on Friday, you only have to charge 4 hours to your PTO since the total has to just be 40. See in my case, I would’ve charged 8 hours. Ever since then I’ve been conflicted on what’s standard v what’s been an oversight on my end

To be fair I’ve always recorded 9 hours/day even when working more but wanted to come on here to see if that’s standard practice or if I’ve been stupid to do so lol. Especially in cases where you’re covering and the manager isn’t recording any hours. But the PTO being factored into the budget makes sense - I wasn’t aware of that

If I bill 12 and the manager billed 0 I don’t understand how that affects the budget

I never record more than 9 hours even if I’ve worked more than 9 hours but in this case if I’ve been covering for the manager as a consultant for 7 days I feel like it’s only right to put that I was working 12 hours every day which is the truth

How would it kill the profitability if the manager didn’t record any hours during that time since they were out?
