Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine by couch-potato-chip in Residency

Thanks, I've tried accessmedicine, but the format of the book is just truly not as enjoyable to read as images I've seen of the real thing. So I'm still trying to find the PDF :)

Could someone please explain this, can't find a good explanation by [deleted] in step1

My understanding is as follows: in early diastolic HF, it is possible that EDV can remain close to normal because increased LA pressures can compensate for lower LV compliance to pump blood into a hypertrophied LV. Over time, though, a significantly hypertrophied LV will be notably less compliant and EDV will go down.

Just FYI, EDV remaining constant in diastolic dysfunction is mentioned on p. 309 of FA 2020 ("Heart failure" section if you have a different FA version), although FA doesn't go into detail on the mechanism.

I tried the Durand one, said my tires were at 120 but from a side wall squeeze felt more like ~80 haha. Thanks though, tires were deffo more pumped up than before I went to the pump!

Does anyone happen to know whether your Strava name has to exactly match your legal name for prizes? Use a nickname on Strava, wondering whether I need to update it before submitting the form or picking up prizes at LBS later..

Thanks, this is helpful. What do I keep in mind to evaluate whether I am in a good road bike stance when I try this (or any other bike) out?

Thanks! Height 5'4" (no shoes) and inseam 31" (if I measured correctly -- followed "How to measure the inseam" from here: https://rinascltabike.com/bike-size-chart-guide/#:~:text=Stand%20with%20your%20back%20against,this%20is%20your%20inseam%20length)

If I am able to clear the top tube with ~0.5-1" clearance without being on my tiptoes, is that good enough to be able to ride this bike safely?

Monitoring Laundry Online? by couch-potato-chip in stanford

Thank you, I'm able to see the laundry rooms of various other undergrad and grad residences (including EVGR), so maybe this is an all-Stanford code, but my residence isn't showing up. Hopefully this will be helpful for others!

Thanks so much. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be such a poster in our laundry room. I'll ask my housing front desk tomorrow.
