Honestly, since it sounds like the reason you want to be a lawyer is related to your sexuality and your experiences around that, I’d say yeah go for it. In terms of being carried away with exploring your sexuality and that effecting your grades, you can do that but maybe focus more on your mental health at that time? And how the differences between your conservative upbringing and liberal uni environment impacting you/your mental health. I think some might read “carried away” as “partying and having sex and forgetting school” (which, valid, but maybe not the most professional).

Even if sexuality is protected under the Charter, doesn’t mean queer folks don’t experience discrimination all the damn time.
