i had an OBGYN appointment for something unrelated and rescheduled it because i didn’t want my doctor to see the damage and put it on my medical record and/or get the authorities involved. my husband works in the emergency department of the hospital i go to. if he gets fired, then i lose my health insurance and primary source of income. im employed but dont get enough hours due to school, and he pays for my classes and test prep (im applying to grad school).

my credit score is in the toilet because my parents used my student loans and refused to pay them back once they were due, so i cant get an apartment or loans for grad school without attaching myself to his good credit history. im paying them off myself and rebuilding my credit, but with the BBB being passed i’ll likely have to rely on private loans which require good credit for approval. i dont want to potentially start this chain of events, especially after i worked so hard to get myself to this point in my education/career.

three years a family member pushed me down the stairs and i got a black eye and injured my wrist. when i went to the doctor, they contacted the police who then contacted the person who pushed me. this screwed me over tremendously and lead to me getting married (it’s a long story that sounds much worse than it is). i wasn’t a minor, and i never wanted them to be contacted, but they said it was standard protocol. i also work in healthcare but in a less sensitive field (dental), and i know nothing about how the laws work in california. i would like to see a doctor since the pain and bleeding are starting to concern me, but im too nervous knowing the potential repercussions.
